As a dishwasher at Black + Blue Toronto, your main responsibilities would include:
Operating High-Technology Dishwashers: You will be responsible for operating advanced dishwashing equipment to efficiently and effectively clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. This includes loading and unloading items into the dishwasher, selecting appropriate wash cycles, and ensuring proper functioning of the machines.
Hand-Toweling and Inspection: After items go through the dishwasher, you will hand-towel and inspect them to ensure they are spotless, free from residue, and ready for use. This involves carefully drying and examining each item to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.
Assisting in Food Preparation: At times, you may be required to support the kitchen team by performing basic food preparation tasks. This could include chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, or assisting with plating dishes. Your assistance in these tasks helps to ensure a smooth workflow in the kitchen.
Maintaining Cleanliness in the Kitchen: As a dishwasher, you will play a role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area. This includes regularly cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and utensils, as well as keeping the dishwashing area tidy and free from clutter.
Following Safety and Hygiene Standards: It is crucial to adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times. This includes handling chemicals and sanitizing agents properly, following guidelines for the safe storage and handling of food, and practicing good personal hygiene.
