We have an exciting opportunity to join the bank as a Disaster Recovery Lead. The Head of Disaster Recovery will drive the vision, direction and align Santander UKs Disaster Recovery strategy and will ensure we continue to service our customers in the event of the unexpected. You will build and drive the strategy which encompasses both On and Off premise infrastructure and the corresponding Business Services.
Here you’ll leverage traditional best practices to optimise agility as part of Digital Transformation journeys within the organisation, delivering effective service management through the definition and adoption of a governance practice that uses KPIs and metrics to track and measure the quality of service.
You’ll work with the CTO, Infrastructure in the development of the global strategy for Santander UK Infrastructure, designing and providing project cost estimates for new initiatives, whilst working with third party vendors to evaluate existing contracts, adopt new technologies and drive contract efficiency.
The difference you’ll make.
- Leading and driving the overall DR strategy of multiple functional areas across Infrastructure and the CIO application teams.
- Identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement.
- Directing operations to support existing Infrastructure, applications and development of new solutions and tools to meet the requirements of the Disaster Recovery Agenda.
- Building the capability of the team including people, process, tools, and best practise. Expand current automation capabilities to complement the Application and Product Teams.
- Directing and driving the DR Strategy and assisting the Head of Open Systems.
- Coordinating the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure that we meet our KPIs and add value to the enterprise
What you’ll bring.
- Accountable for Resilience and Disaster Recovery for Santander Technology.
- Embed resilience and recovery at the heart of what we build and maintain.
- Be the technology Interface to BU stakeholders to ensure we have fit for purpose E2E recovery plans through testing.
- Build and maintain effective repeatable Plans and processes for On/Off Premise technology.
- Demonstrate plans and ensure we are within metrics governance of Santander.
- Have experience of automation frameworks on an Enterprise scale.
It would also be nice for you to have.
- Can demonstrate a technical background in OS and Database Technologies
- Have interfaces with senior stakeholders in previous role
- Have an understanding of risk management framework
- Have worked in a service focused company
What else you need to know.
We will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
This is a permanent role to be based at our Milton Keynes office with some remote working. Time spent working from the Milton Keynes office will be 2-3 days per week initially.
