About The Other House
Created by the Portfolio Club and launched in 2019, The Other House is a joint venture between partners London Central Portfolio Ltd (“LCP”) and Stichting Depositary APG Strategic Real Estate Pool (“APG”). The first location opened in South Kensington in summer 2022 after significant investment and Covent Garden is planned to open in 2024. Whilst the initial focus will be on prime central London, the venture will roll-out globally, catering for the aspirational business and leisure traveller.
The Other House forms a new sector in the accommodation space: A Residents’ Club.
Each Resident’s Club will blur the lines between hotels, serviced apartments and the Private Rented Sector, meaning residents can book for a day, week, month, or year. We are looking to reimagine how people stay with us by providing a deep sense of place, ownership, and security for all our residents. The brand will showcase the best in British design with a focus on sustainability and smart technologies and emphasis on guest experience.
DIRECTOR OF SALES
The Other House is looking for a dynamic and energetic Director of Sales, with a genuine interest in the opportunities and challenges within hospitality. They will lead the sales department, communicate with key stake holders and work alongside their peers in Revenue, Marketing and PR to drive results.
This unique and exciting role offers the opportunity to be part of an innovative brand launch in prime central London and reap the benefits of its success as an instrumental member of the senior team.
The successful Director of Sales will be responsible for:
Take responsibility for the achievement of budgeted revenue streams- Operate within departmental budgets through effective cost controls and well managed schedules
- Responsible for the developing and delivering the sales strategy for The Other House portfolio to drive attract and retain guests, and maintain a competitive edge
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients and stakeholders, such as corporate clients, travel agents, agencies, and local businesses
- Mentor and coach sales team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their sales targets
- Develop and execute sales strategies through preparation of a strategic sales plan that relates to marketing and operational plans.
- Implementation and administration of the Sales budget and the establishment of monthly, quarterly and annual individual sales goals
- Ensure that all promotional communications are up to date, correctly distributed and that the Sales department always have full knowledge of all available promotion.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 5 years’ industry experience of Sales delivery
- Exemplary commercial awareness
- Excellent understanding of the business travel industry including the hotel and serviced apartment sector, relocation and mobility.
- A tech-led mindset, owning systems and leading data driven conversations
- Knowledge of the markets specifically the luxury / lifestyle hotel sector
- Proven experience in hotel and serviced apartment openings
- Demonstrable leadership, motivational and management skills
- Excellent organisation, planning and decision-making skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Personable and articulate with natural ability to build rewarding relationships
- Accountable and resilient
- Ability to work under pressure with flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
- Well informed about political and economic events in the UK and globally which may affect the UK hospitality/property market
- A creative mind partnered with the ability to find the best practical solutions
- Proficient in CRM Tools and Microsoft Office suite
