What You'll Do
The Director of Product IT is responsible for overseeing the systems, services and infrastructure that is used to deploy the SaaS products created by BambooHR. The director is responsible for the efficient management of existing infrastructure including cost efficiency, continuous improvement, security, and working with our architects to employ cloud native deployment patterns in both our infrastructure and software.
You will:
- Provides leadership and direction for system engineering and design across multiple projects and functional areas.
- Advises on performance optimizations and best practices for infrastructure, systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develops processes and policies resulting in efficient use of public cloud resources in order to manage operations costs.
- Work with software and systems Architects in determining current and future infrastructure needs.
- Create strategic initiatives and specific objectives for system and infrastructural improvements
- Oversee the implementation and management of new and existing infrastructure.
- Effectively manage the leadership of system engineering teams.
- Leverages the right tools for the right job to deliver observable, maintainable, and modern IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Supports application team development and the like according to scrum team stories.
- Works with team leaders to estimate and deliver work inside of a sprint.
- Interacts closely with business users and technical resources outside of IT in order to maintain alignment to company objectives.
- Oversees the reduction of technical debt over time with root cause identification and resolution of system problems.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Experience with building and maintaining cloud native applications in multiple global regions
- AWS experience preferred but not required
- 5+ years managerial experience of system or software engineering teams
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
- Experience with managing and deploying SaaS products using AWS infrastructure
- Experience with building and maintaining cloud native applications in multiple global regions
