Digital Engineering is part of Capgemini Invent – the management consulting arm of Capgemini. Digital Engineering is an area of major growth potential for Capgemini and has major growth ambitions for the coming years. Digital Engineering aims to power this growth through developing innovative solutions for our clients and drawing on the extensive capabilities of Capgemini including Capgemini Engineering (formerly Altran), Hybrid Intelligence (formerly Tessella) and Cambridge Consultants.
In this role you will be part of the senior leadership team of the Digital Engineering practice, which is one of the fastest growing areas of Capgemini Invent and focuses on helping our clients realise business value and competitive advantage by transforming the way they develop, commercialise and manufacture products.
As a leader in the practice, you will take on responsibility for developing and delivering major transformation programmes for our clients. You will use the leading digital technologies and techniques including PLM, MBSE, digital thread and twin and IOT to create innovative solutions to address our clients business problems.
You will have the opportunity to work on high profile, impactful projects with industry leading organisations to helping them to define new industry leading capabilities and to transform their existing operations.
As a Director (Product Lifecycle Management Strategy & Transformation in the business) you’ll help set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team.
You will be able to use your entrepreneurial skills, knowledge and creativity to deliver truly inventive solutions to our clients. You will be at the forefront of driving the growth of the Digital Engineering practice and helping to realise our ambitions.

To continue this exciting growth, we are looking to recruit high calibre Digital Engineering experts who can really make a difference for our clients.
Key expectations from this role include:
- Driving the growth of the digital engineering practice by identifying and shaping project opportunities
- Raising the profile of digital engineering and its capabilities, inside and outside of the Capgemini organisation
- Development of thought leadership and relevant Points of View linked to MBSE, product development and PLM to discuss with clients and use to raise Capgemini’s profile at industry events and conferences
- Supporting recruitment and the development of the personnel within the team
The ambition to join our team and to help us realise our growth objectives. We are looking for a person with:
- Significant experience of engineering, product development, new product introduction and manufacturing. This could have been gained through operational, technical or leadership roles in industry, or through delivering major consulting assignments for blue-chip consulting organisations.
- Extensive knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), digital thread and digital twin concepts and the capabilities provided by leading PLM toolsets and their practical application for transforming product design, development, manufacture and through-life support.
- Experience of operating as a trusted advisor in a C-level environment helping to develop roadmaps for transforming organisational behaviours and enabling the adoption of new innovative working practices
- Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
- Engaging with clients – developing relationships with senior leaders, VPs and Directors within Tier 1 organisations.
- Experience of developing and delivering proposition product development, PLM strategy and organisational transformation.
- Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background.
- Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c.£2m of consulting revenues.

Whilst you will have London or Glasgow as an office base location, you must be fully flexible in terms of assignment location, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice.
