About the role
Working as part of our Leadership Team, as Director of Strategy & Transformation you will be responsible for facilitating the wider board to create strategic clarity and manage the programme of change activity to drive the business forward. This broader leadership role will lead a wider team of business change and project management specialists to deliver its objectives as well as working collaboratively with a range of different functions across the organisation.
About You
- Are the custodian of the Matalan Strategy, working with the CEO and COP to support the wider board team in shaping the future change programme to support business growth
- Create the narrative for change and play a key part in taking people across the business on the journey
- Set and own governance frameworks for the business to manage change, ensuring that there is broader business buy in and adherence to this
- Lead the wider team to manage the programme of activity linked to strategic change, ensuring there is effective ways of working to execute credibly
- Have a continual external radar across the industry and beyond, looking further out at how we can improve as a business, using this insight to drive innovation and agitate conversations which will further shape the strategy
- Work collaboratively with the subject matter experts across the business to deliver the maximum return on investment for any change programmes
- Ensure the effective preparation of relevant documentation for the exec team to be used with investors
- Think end to end, joining the dots, avoiding duplication and maximising the positive impacts of change programmes
- Act as a role model of our Leadership Expectations; Creating Clarity, Driving Change, Enabling Agility, Encouraging Inclusion and Avoiding Derailers whilst driving the same expectation across your leadership team
