The Director of Privacy Operations is accountable for ensuring (1) the processes and systems that support the management of Privacy risk are operationally optimized and efficient, (2) alignment across related programs at both the process and system level, and (3) cost-efficient and effective delivery of operational process and system support.

  • Accountable for strategy development, process ownership, systems ownership, and service delivery for all Privacy processes (Individual Rights Management, Privacy Inventories and Assessments, Incident & Breach, and Notices management).

  • Engages regularly with the Digital Privacy & Cyber Security team on process development, optimization, and potential issues. Provide process expertise to governance or committees as needed.

  • Guides the Privacy Operations team in managing a complex network of matrix relationships to gather feedback, identify issues/opportunities, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Ensures that outsourced teams supporting Privacy Operations are performing and appropriately resourced.

  • Effectively influences and engages leaders to ensure appropriate change management and adoption of systems owned by the team. Acts as a thought-partner to address risks/issues, to solve problems, and to drive decision making in a matrix organization.

  • Provide oversight and coordination of Privacy Operational activities supported across the team and in close collaboration with the Digital, Privacy and Cyber Security Team, to include:

    • Ownership of the Privacy Dashboard and support for quarterly KRI review and management monitoring activities. Provide analyses and context for data provided for reporting purposes.

    • Coordination support for Privacy written standards, training, and all communication activities and materials, including engagement with Privacy Contacts/Privacy Leaders and the wider Privacy community

  • Secretary of the Privacy Governance Board, responsible for coordinating meetings and materials, ensuring alignment to annual risk management activities, and capturing meeting minutes surrounding key board decisions

  • Collaborates across related programs (e.g., TPRM) to ensure processes and systems are designed to create an optimal end-to-end customer journey experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years job-related experience in Legal/Compliance/Risk Management areas

  • Must have background and experience working on Privacy related matters

  • Experience working in an operations space and leading multi-functional teams within a matrix environment including managing senior stakeholders

  • Experience translating business needs into both a project plan and measurable metrics for success

  • Experience managing people directly or indirectly; demonstrated capabilities in people development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver process simplification, standardization, and proven experience in global process roll-out

  • Ability to act as a thought partner to senior level stakeholders by proposing solutions, adding views, and constructively disagreeing, and driving decision making through a large matrix organization

  • Experience delivering best practice, project tracking and reporting that is suitable for all management levels

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to be consultative- possessing effective influencing and negotiating skills

  • Ability to effectively interact with peer level associates

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision working simultaneously on multiple large, complex projects

  • Committed to delivering high quality results, overcoming challenges, focusing on what matters, execution

  • Designing or implementing change initiatives and leading change

  • Translating strategy into action - a compelling narrative, motivating others, setting objectives and delegation
