The Role
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has a vital public service role, promoting the safety, security, and consumer interests of those who fly, whilst also protecting those on the ground below. It has a vital role in leading and enabling the aerospace sector, helping ensure that the UK continues to be a global leader, with a reputation to match. The sector faces enormous challenges and opportunities, including recovery from the impact of COVID, delivering environmental sustainability, space, innovative new aerospace technologies, diversity and meeting consumers’ expectations.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of People & Culture will inspire peers, colleagues, customers and consumers by providing exceptional People leadership across the organisation, with a breadth of understanding of wider business issues.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader, who can demonstrate a track record of functional and operational leadership with experience of managing significant organisational and cultural change. They will bring senior leadership experience of exceptional quality, ideally in a risk managing dynamic environment. Candidates will be able to engage successfully with a wide range of audiences and will have experience of driving transformational change and delivering best practice. Candidates will bring strong influencing and communication skills, with high levels of intellectual capacity to inspire continuous cultural improvement.
Additional Information
For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.
To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. For this role this will need to be 5 years.
