Job Purpose
Provide strategic direction, leadership, oversight and management on all aspects of Football to help realise the Board’s ambition and philosophy.
Main duties include:
- Lead the Footballing department - Line Management of Head Coach, the Recruitment department, the Academy, the Analysis and Sports Science teams (Medical and Fitness)
- Player Recruitment – work collaboratively with the Board, Head Coach, Scouts and Analysis department to bring in players within an agreed budget that improve the squad
- Working with the Board, contribute towards and have oversight of the new training ground and all football facilities.
You’ll have the skillset to deliver the duties listed above, and an attitude that ties in with the progressive positive nature of FGR.
In terms of your attributes and characteristics, this role will require:
- A background in Sport, ideally Football
- Leadership/management experience in handling multiple stakeholders with a positive approach
- Experience in Analysis within sport
- Match/player analysis, recruitment, and science/medical
- An excellent external contact network
- Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal
- Commercial, negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience of managing budgets
- Forward thinking, setting and maintaining standards, constantly evolving and implementing innovative ideas in all aspects of the role
- Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative
- Sporting qualifications are desirable
