Director of Engineering required on a permanent basis for a FinTech business that specialise in payment solutions. This role will require travel to the London office once or twice a week.

The successful candidate will have experience managing large engineering teams, including Engineering Managers in a fast-paced environment. The Director of Engineering will be imperative to helping define the product vision and technical strategy moving forward by working closely with the Product Director.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the product teams to help define the product vision
• Take ownership of the technical strategy
• Liaising with Engineering Managers to ensure that quality software is being delivered on-time
• Ensure that the short and long-term product/technical vision is being adhered to
  

Experience required:

• Experience leading large engineering environments, including Engineering Managers
• Excellent technical understanding of modern development practices including Microservices Architecture and Cloud Technologies
• Experience working with both on-shore and off-shore teams
• Knowledge of Java/Spring Boot (highly desirable – not required)
