Job description
This is a unique and newly created opportunity to join the Learning Academies Trust’s senior school improvement team. A challenging yet rewarding opportunity, you will be jointly accountable for the educational performance of the Trust.
Within the Learning Academies Trust (LAT) we currently have nine diverse primary schools; three ‘outstanding’, four ‘good’ and two ‘requires improvement’ as graded by Ofsted. All nine are inner city schools serving disadvantaged communities in the heart of Plymouth, educating just under 3000 children.
However, in a very exciting development and following the recent approval from the South West’s Regional Director, Hannah Woodhouse, the Plymouth based Horizon MAT will be joining the Learning Academies Trust from September 2023, which will double the size of our Trust to 18 Plymouth primary schools.
We are looking for an experienced, influential education leader, trained and experienced in the new Ofsted framework, with the ability to inspire and drive sustainable performance, and who shares a deep understanding of our educational vision and purpose. We believe disadvantage should not be an obstacle to success and with great leadership, inspirational teaching, caring pastoral support and hard work, every child in our Trust can succeed. Our strapline is ‘Believe you can. Together we will.’
Working as part of a senior LAT school improvement team of 3 Directors of Education, the successful postholder will lead our work on Ofsted preparation, data and assessment, governance and safeguarding, as well as leading a hub of 6 primary schools and performance managing their headteachers.
