Job description
The Director of Communications and Engagement will be a member of our senior Leadership team which is responsible for devising and delivering Coin Street’s long-term corporate strategy and advising three independent boards on the best ways to work together to achieve their social, commercial, and environmental goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Membership of the senior Leadership team.
- Leadership of the external and internal communications, marketing, and external affairs.
- Developing partnerships with local, regional, and national stakeholders including, the media, politicians, businesses, people working in, living in, or visiting our neighbourhood.
- Developing and delivering integrated communications and influencing strategies on behalf of Coin Street and our businesses.
- Responding and speaking on behalf of the organisation to a broad variety of audiences and at appropriate forums.
- Reputational risk analysis, horizon scanning, insight, and challenge for all entities
The Candidate
To be considered for the role candidates should have:
- An excellent record of establishing close and proactive relationships with a variety of external stakeholders including mainstream national and regional media, and a proven ability to shape and influence the agenda.
- An appreciation of how to use strategic marketing and communications tools to support commercial objectives.
- Experience of working with all levels of government and the demonstrable ability to build effective networks with a variety of commercial, civil, and public stakeholders.
- Ability to understand complexity quickly, think strategically, and to translate strategies into actions.
- Demonstrable experience of interpreting the external reputational landscape, with an ability to influence, campaign and advocate, capitalise on opportunities and identify risk and challenges.
- A personal passion for the shared objectives and values of Coin Street’s communities.
- An understanding that the impact of (y)our work effects the national agenda but, critically, the local and community agenda as well. Equally, because our communities are at our heart, what impacts them, impacts us and your work should adapt to these dynamics.

Contract: Permanent
Salary: £80,000 to £90,000
