    The Board of Trustees of the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Director I, Community and Family Engagement.The Director of Community and Family Engagement is a position that works closely with District staff under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. This position will work to ensure that the district maintains a strong relationship of trust and understanding with the entire P-BVUSD community through effective two-way communication with students, staff, parents, and the community. This leadership position will be responsible for creating a strategic plan to engage and conduct outreach with all District families and provide multiple pathways for the community to communicate with District leaders. In addition, have a comprehensive strategy and implementation of all family and community engagement initiatives within the District’s schools. These initiatives include direct family outreach programming and education, support for school-based family outreach, coordination of partnerships, and parent leadership and advocacy.


    DISTINGUISHING CAREER FEATURES
    The Director of Community and Family Engagement will create and implement an inclusive Parent Engagement plan to engage and conduct outreach with the District’s families to foster inclusive partnerships in support of all students and provide multiple pathways for the community and staff to communicate with District leaders.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • Lead and conduct outreach to families and the community associated with the District regarding opportunities for advocacy and parent involvement.
    • Creates opportunities such as surveys, advisory councils, community forums, etc., for the district to engage with and listen to the community.
    • Serves as the facilitator for the Community Schools Grant in addition to writing grants to further community and parental involvement.
    • Serves as a liaison with community agencies, organizations, and community representatives.
    • Educates community leaders regarding District and schools through relationship building, school visits, community events, etc.
    • Engage and conduct outreach with the district’s Spanish-speaking families in order to foster more inclusive partnerships in support of students.
    • Attends and facilitates meetings with special groups, such as District advisory councils and committees, community information meetings, etc.
    • Design, initiate and execute events and other initiatives that deepen the connections between District schools and the communities they serve.
    • Coordinate events and activities providing parents and families with an opportunity to engage in their children’s education.
    • Organize formal and informal parent meetings and events that build a sense of community and collaborative relationships.
    • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Master’s degree in a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience
    • Valid CA Driver's License
    • Bilingual Preferred
    • Working knowledge of educational systems and programs
    • Appearance, grooming, and personality which establishes a desirable model.
    • Better than average recommendations from professionals who have observed personal characteristics, scholastic attainment and classroom performance.
    • Must be able to establish good working relationships with other professionals.
    • Ability to speak effectively and authoritative regarding district and extended learning programs to staff, families, and administrators through training and presentations.

    SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE
    Annual Salary (based on the 2022-2023 salary schedule) $109,391 - $132,614 (9) steps. $2,000/year stipend for a Doctorate Degree. 261-day work year. Placement on the salary schedule is determined by the number of years of administrator experience. Additional days, evenings/weekends as needed to perform related job duties and responsibilities. The District currently contributes $19,793.00 per year to family dental, medical, and vision insurance plans and a life insurance plan for employee only.
