Position Description: The Director for Continuing Legal Education is responsible for overseeing the execution of the continuing legal education function of the Kentucky Bar Association and is responsible to the CLE Commission for the administration of rules applying to the Commission and any regulations issued by the Commission. This position reports to the Executive Director of the KBA.

Summary of Duties:
CLE Commission Duties:
- CLE Budget Oversight and Development – By representing the CLE Commission and its interests, this position will oversee the preparation and approval of the annual, recommended, and proposed budget for the CLE.
- Serve as the liaison and information conduit between the KBA and the CLE Commission.
- Responsible for drafting, amending, and proposing Supreme Court Rules regarding CLE issues and will present/represent CLE Commission interests regarding these rules at meetings and hearings as required.
KBA CLE Programming Duties:
- Manages the development, planning and promotion of KBA Live Programs including Kentucky Law Update, Annual Convention, New Lawyer Program, Diversity & Inclusion Summit, and Video Replay.
KBA CLE Regulatory Duties:
- Oversees the accreditation of CLE programs by reviewing applications, processing requests, and communicating to members.
- Handles the coordination of CLE Awards or Renewal Awards.
- Communicates with existing members regarding their exemptions, extensions, and overall compliance with annual requirements.
- Communicates with new lawyers regarding the completion of the New Lawyer Program.
KBA CLE Department Administration
- Manages CLE staff and approves CLE expenditures.
- Builds and maintains relationships with other CLE leaders.
- Develops and manages the dissemination of information through various media outlets (publication, web, etc.)
- Direct and promote the Great Place to Start mentoring program.
- Reports and provides information to the Board of Governors as required.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Juris Doctorate required.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Minimum of 5 years of related legal experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $99,837.00 - $106,462.00 per year
