USADA is seeking a dedicated and driven person to help our organization fulfill its mission to "Stand with athletes to champion their right to clean sport, inspire true and healthy sport, and promote the integrity of sport.” This is an incredibly exciting time to join Team USADA, as we continue to grow our Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Anti-Doping program and work to support major international competitions such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024 (Paris), 2026 (Milan), and 2028 (Los Angeles). New team members will have the chance to help ensure USADA is well-positioned in the near and long term for these opportunities as we look to the future with our efforts to protect clean athletes. With the 2028 Games on domestic soil, there will also be opportunities and growth potential over the years for USADA team members to underpin the organizing committee’s commitment to a clean Games.

The Director of IT leads our execution of a multi-year strategic approach to technology infrastructure. They oversee the sourcing, maintenance, and improvement of USADA’s technology infrastructure, hardware, business applications, and security (software & physical). They partner with the USADA leadership team, internal business teams, and external vendors to execute software development projects that meet operational and stakeholder needs. They supervise and direct the team dedicated to technology infrastructure and manage external vendors to carry out the operational and strategic goals of their department. A key aspect of this position is understanding USADA’s business strategy and identifying fit-for-purpose technology solutions that will advance this strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES
General
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of business needs to inform technology strategies and tactics.
- Effectively translate technical subject matter between business leaders and technology team members and service providers.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of technology projects.
- Prepare annual and multi-year business plans for technology that are specifically tied to USADA’s multi-year Game Plan and associated annual operating plans.
- Ensure USADA’s technology roadmap and execution is nimble and proactive; enabling our business to respond quickly to specific opportunities and challenges.
- Partner with executive and senior leadership to anticipate issues and proactively position the organization to best navigate a dynamic technology landscape.
- Ensure strong communication and collaboration between the technology team and all other teams within USADA.
- Create and maintain strategic relationships with similarly positioned technology leaders at international partner organizations such as the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), International Federations (IFs), and other National Anti-Doping Agencies (NADOs).
- Build and support a high-functioning team, including providing strategic leadership, direction, and employee professional development.
- Ensure quality products and services are delivered to USADA staff and stakeholders.
- Drive strategy and seek opportunities to continually position USADA as a global leader.
- Ensure USADA teams are equipped with appropriate technology solutions.
- Develop, refine, enforce, and foster continuous improvement of department processes and procedures.
- Stay informed of new and innovative technologies, as well as technical and economic changes affecting the technology marketplace through research, training, collaboration, conferences, etc.
- Responsible for planning, tracking, and maintaining the department budget.
- Responsible for the operation and security of all USADA technology resources and assets.
- Responsible for identifying and securing organizational hardware and software requirements.
- Ensure the integrity and reliability of data systems, communication systems, and office technology systems including the security of data acquired and stored. This includes the protection of confidential information and intellectual property, and compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations, including Federal, state, and international data protection and management laws. Develop and deploy all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, standards, purchasing, service, security, disaster recovery, and other risk mitigation strategies.
- Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology field; or equivalent and relevant experience.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of management/supervisory experience, including management of IT services.
- Strong sense of initiative and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Experience with multiple development languages, such as: Java, JavaScript, Python, Node JS, React, React Native, SQL, iOS Swift, HTML/CSS, C#, C++, Go.
- Experience with .NET technologies.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure design, deployment & use (including AWS and Azure).
- Able to analyze complex problems, situations and develop a range of solutions.
- Demonstrated project management and portfolio management success.
- Excellent “translation” skills – the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical teammates.
- Ability to effectively recognize and adapt to change.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Independent, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- Moderate to advanced proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Master’s Degree in relevant field.
- Experience with technology solutions for business analytics and insights, including business intelligence tools.
