Director, Global Internal Engagement Delivery

Location: GSK House, London, OR Poland

This is a key role in our internal communications function, and part of a multi-disciplinary internal agency team which supports delivery of world-class internal engagement activity to support our strategic priorities to build employee confidence and engagement and embed our culture. Collaborating with multiple business partners and comms colleagues across the company, the successful candidate will be skilled at stakeholder management, communications planning, creative and digital internal communications and impactful writing. The role will also line manage 4 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partners with business and communications leads to deliver programmes in support of GIE priorities
  • Develops communications which are insight-driven, engaging and delivered in a timely, digestible and convenient way for maximum impact, aligned to our GSK brand and voice
  • Drives regular knowledge and experience sharing, and supports capability building across the team (including employee facing campaign planning, guidance and use of measurement methodologies and tools, governance and planning)
  • Ensures visibility and alignment between internal employee communications best practice and the wider CGA priorities
  • Works with IE Planning Manager to effectively forward-plan team resource
  • Supports broader Communications & Government Affairs (CGA) priorities, as needed
  • Supports and deputises for Head, Operational, HR and internal engagement delivery communications on relevant areas, as needed
  • Line manages team of 4 communications managers (located in UK, Poland, US) providing coaching, upskilling and development support, and ensuring the team is implementing world class practices
  • Works within and contributes to a dynamic, fast paced team

  • Experience of working on global communications at mid-senior level, across a variety of internal audiences for major public or private sector organisations, or in an agency specialising in internal communications.
  • Qualified to Degree level or experience in delivering role-critical information to people.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and partner with multiple and diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of best practices in employee engagement, monitoring trends and innovations in the discipline.
  • Experience of leading a team (direct reporting and/or matrix).
  • Strong oral and impactful written skills required.
  • Excellent listening and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong logistics and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
