The Role
The Ellison Oxford team is looking to recruit a Director, Facilities to be responsible for planning, construction and maintenance of building systems for the new Oxford location. The new facility is currently in Stage 4 of the design process. The Director, Facilities will work with Senior Management to finalize design and plan for implementation. The Facilities team focuses on major building systems including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and associated Building Management Systems. Close coordination with Laboratory Systems via the Research team is required, and prior knowledge of a Laboratory environment is a benefit.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and define final stages of facility design as it relates to job role.
- Hiring and Management of facilities team
- Develop, Implement, and review SOPs related to building system operations and maintenance.
- Coordinate building system maintenance and operations with Lab Operations and Facility Operations and Events.
- Develop and maintain associated budgets.
- Provide strategic input toward development of Oxford Campus.
- Oversee Building Management System (BMS) as it relates to building systems, including Laboratory Spaces excluding Laboratory Equipment.
- Oversee Facilities Service Requests (ticketing program)
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and laws.

Terms of Appointment
Subject to a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months. You must be eligible to work in the UK with a willingness to travel occasionally and as necessary. The initial hiring of the candidate will result in two phases. Phase 1, the candidate is hired directly into a UK based staffing agency, to ensure the Institute has the adequate number of staff to provide private benefits and pension scheme. In Phase 2, candidate will transition as a direct hire into the Ellison Institute, LLC, Oxford based location.
