Responsibilities
As the Program Director for Inclusive Higher Education (IHE) at Abilities, Inc., you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of The Viscardi Center's Inclusive Higher Education program in collaboration with multiple academic partners. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing the recruitment and enrollment process for students in the IHE pilot program, including responding to program inquiries and ensuring completion of required documentation.
- Collaborating with college administrators, faculty, and Viscardi staff to develop program design, schedule, coursework, activities, and events that align with the program's goals.
- Managing logistical arrangements such as transportation and establishing agreements with academic partners.
- Hiring and screening staff and peer mentors in accordance with Human Resources policies and procedures, and providing ongoing professional development to the team.
- Evaluating curriculum and instructional practices to ensure students receive the necessary support to maximize their learning outcomes.
- Being present on-site for program activities as needed and supervising assigned staff.
- Delivering presentations during orientation sessions and providing instruction on select topics.
- Ensuring proper documentation and assessment information is gathered and maintained, and preparing final reports and funding reports as required.
- Managing the approved budget for the program.
- Performing other responsibilities as assigned by the organization.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and education:
- Master's Degree in Education, Disabilities Studies, or Human Resources preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, along with exceptional organizational abilities.
- Strong experience in program design, assessment, and curriculum development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and demonstrate cultural competency.
- Willingness to travel locally as needed.
- Previous supervisory experience and proficiency in providing professional development training.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
- Schedule Requirement:
This position requires availability from 9 am to 3 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (except during school holiday periods).
