The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Retail Designer to join our Architecture & VM team for Penhaligon's, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Kama Ayurveda and Loto del Sur. In this role, you will develop creative and technical retail design for our brands focusing on stand-alone stores, wholesale and travel retail points of sale. This includes producing original concepts as well as developing our current layouts.
What you´ll get to do
- Develop design for stand-alone stores and wholesale and travel retail shop-in-shop spaces and counters.
- Manage different stages of the design process, from concept creation through to detail development, technical execution, sample finishes approval and quality control.
- Liaise with the in-house Construction & Project Management teams as well as with external designers and agencies, making sure to provide all the information needed to the project managers and suppliers in charge of executing the stores.
- Provide the Visual Design teams with the tools and permanent design vision for them to align and create appropriate assortment and VM solutions.
- Create technical guidelines for the execution of the stores.
- Collaborate with commercial teams for retail and wholesale briefs.
- Ensure design reflects business needs.
- Keep abreast of retail design trends within the industry.
We´d love to meet you if you have
- Retail Design experience within the Beauty, Luxury or Consumer industries.
- A strong design portfolio demonstrating all design stages.
- Proficient use of SketchUp, CAD, Layout, Adobe and Office applications.
- 3D modelling software familiarity, preferably V-ray, is advantageous.
- Highly creative, with the ability to come up with design concepts and ideas from scratch and take them to life.
- Good sense of design with a strong eye for layout and appreciation of brand guidelines.
- High level of design skills; ability to sketch and hand draw.
- Sound knowledge of relevant materials as well as the final appropriate construction methods.
- Knowledge of millwork standards, details and construction.
- Self-starter able to work autonomously, driving momentum on multiple projects and proactively planning ahead.
- Commercially focused outlook.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Collaborative team player.
- Sensitivity to luxury and good attention to detail.
