About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Director to join our passionate and driven team.
The overall purpose of the role is to increase profitability of the sector through new sales generation, retention projects and business growth within the Stadia, Events and Exhibition sector.
To target multi-million-pound facilities management opportunities, in line with strategic goals, both individually, through a Business Development network and with colleagues in the wider business.
To help develop and drive the sector business development strategy working with the Sector MD and Operational teams regarding winning new business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling, owning and developing a best-in-class new business development pipeline (1-3 years).
- Seeking out major clients and forming working relationships with the premier buyers in the Sector
- Identifying and focusing on our key businesses (stadia, arenas, racecourses, ConFex and events)
- Accurately forecasting future sales and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the marketplace
- Serving as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expositions
- Management of database and recording of activities resulting in accurate, detailed, and informative reporting.
- Forming profitable sales strategies to keep the sector competitive and innovative
- Demonstrate skills in building relationships at the highest level with prospects far in advance of any tenders
- The ability to understand how marketing can be used to enhance win rates
- Experience on major tenders and bids ^£1m-£10m.
- Experienced use of technology and CRM systems (salesforce)
- Strategic solution selling not transactional sales experience
- You will work closely with the Group Health and Safety team who are available to provide safety advice and support. Furthermore, you will be required to ensure that safety initiatives are implemented within your areas of control
- Critical Performance Measures (CPMs) / Objectives
- To be defined and agreed during interview stages/ upon appointment
About You:
- Demonstrable success in leading multiple large sales opportunities at once (£1.5m plus projects)
- Experience working and winning contracts in this environment is desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team-oriented environment.
- Ability to constructively debate and press for solutions with experienced operators.
