Director, Account Management Description
We are looking for an experienced, passionate coach and leader of our Account Management team. You’ll be responsible for coaching the team up on renewal and expansion techniques, joining escalation calls when needed, guiding negotiation strategies, and handling a subset of our highest priority enterprise clients yourself with a focus on renewals, expansion and churn.
Responsibilities
- Reporting into the CRO, this role is responsible for achieving Net Revenue Retention and Module upsell targets
- Manage and grow a team of two current account managers
- Work closely with Customer Success leadership to collaborate on the long-term health of our clients while owning the portion tied specifically to renewals and expansion
- Work closely with the Billing team to ensure accuracy in subscription invoices
- Work closely with the Revenue Operations team to ensure our process is continually optimized to maximize revenue
- Coach the team to handle all renewal negotiations, joining calls when needed
- Find creative ways to save ARR on downsells and increase ARR on upsells through a combination of selling modules and adjusting license terms
- Own a subset of our highest priority enterprise clients yourself when they come up for renewal, with assistance from the CRO and CEO as needed
- Be highly detail-oriented to ensure invoices and subscriptions are accurate
- Accurately forecast and manage a pipeline of renewal and expansion opportunities for over 800 clients
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in SaaS account management focused on renewals and upsells
- 2+ years experience successfully managing employees while handling high priority accounts as a player/coach when needed
- Experience building relationships with the highest priority clients at a company while presenting and selling to C-suite level decision-makers
- Ability to identify strategic problems and commercial opportunities with very strong negotiation skills
- Experience selling modules and getting creative with license arrangements in order to maximize revenue
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate closely with teammates across departments, such as Customer Success, Product, Sales, Marketing and Revenue Operations
- Experience managing opportunities in Salesforce (or similar CRM)
