As a Barclays Associate Director Corporate Captive Businesses, you will assist the Relationship Directors in the creation and co-ordination of annual customer relationship plans for selected top-tier customers by obtaining input from product specialists, credit risk teams. Providing relationship-led service, online channels, and product specialists, delivering expertise and specialism for our clients, and working with product partners and wider Barclays teams to increase the wallet share, including delivery of complex product solutions.

What will you be doing?
  • Providing high-quality, balanced credit analysis, financial modelling, and credit report writing within risk appetite to obtain credit approval from credit sanctioners/credit committees
  • Gathering the right level of financial information from the client to generate and know the key financial ratios; assisting in the construction of forecast financial models
  • Planning business needs and issues, identifying the products that most effectively meet our clients’ needs and negotiating on matters such as pricing
  • Identifying proactively potential business opportunities and assisting in preparing pitching materials and researching current & new markets
  • Delivering exceptional sales and business performance whilst maintaining sound risk management, and building and maintaining, long-term business relationships
  • Achieving asset and revenue growth for the business in line with individual targets and partnering with technical experts and product specialists as needed
  • Developing and maintaining contact with clients; proactively anticipating, responding to, and seeking to exceed the expectations of customers
  • Obtaining information on a customer’s business via research using various sources, e.g., trade journals/brokers reports/Internet/Bloomberg and rating agencies


What we’re looking for:
  • Proven corporate credit risk analysis experience and lending to medium/large corporates
  • Good knowledge of Standards, Policies, and Procedures and an awareness of Legislation affecting the Banking Industry
  • Experience supporting Corporate Banking clients, financial analysis and modelling for credit applications and a degree or suitable professional qualification
  • Knowledge of credit risk and how general economic change impacts a Bank’s business, experience with AML, KYC, Customer Due Diligence, Compliance risks, Product risk


Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Transaction banking product knowledge, knowledge of the correspondent banking market and product set
  • Solid grasp of the control procedures for Affiliates
  • Familiarity with the Enhanced Due Diligence process, experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Salesforce
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a pressured environment with good relationship management skills
