Children’s Night Support Worker
Location- Meldreth, Royston
Salary: £11.00 ph to £11.45ph (linked to competency and qualifications) + a night supplement of £25 per night shift worked
Hours:4-week rota pattern of 14 shifts (8:45pm to 8:15am) – Ave 40hrs per week.
Tezlom is looking for a caring and compassionate care assistant to work with children and young people aged 9-19 years with severe and profound communication difficulties associated with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, brain injury and degenerative disorders. The school and home are situated on a beautiful 14-acre site and provides education, care, and therapeutic support.
The Role
- Providing exceptional high levels of care for our children and young adults
- Assisting with getting them ready for bed which will include washing and changing.
- Encourage a healthy sleeping pattern where possible.
- Checking on the children and young adults at regular intervals throughout the night and dealing with any difficulties
- Ensuring that medical needs are always met including the administration and recording of prescribed medication.
- Ensuring that the environment is safe, supportive, calm, and happy.
- May require you to participate in physical intervention and personal care.
- Ensuring that light housekeeping duties are completed (such as loading the dishwasher and keeping the environment tidy).

- Ability to be creative in meeting the needs of the young adults or children’s needs.
- Ability to work on a rota pattern- please note that this will typically mean working every other weekend.

Ultimately, we are looking for people with a passion to build relationships and positively change the lives of the children and young adults that we work with. So, whilst previous experience would be highly beneficial; it’s not essential. What’s more important to us is that you can demonstrate the right attitude to make a difference.
