Channels Enabling Platform (CEP) is made up of Labs that power online banking in distinct and innovative ways - from Intelligent Automation, to Cyber Security, Operational Performance and Change Implementation.
The role of the Strategy and Sustainability Manager is to support the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of our next generation digital run capabilities, as well as own and drive sustainability initiatives across CEP.
Job Description
Lloyds Banking Group is the UK’s leading digital franchise, with over 19 million active online customers across our three main brands - including Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Scottish Widows - as well as the biggest mobile bank in the country.
As the Bank transitions to its next iteration incorporating multi-cloud technology and moves away from a core technology stack, we're looking for an experienced candidate to work with the Digital Re-imagination Programme and consultants to help re-design digital run capabilities to support the new technology stack.
In addition, with the Groups new sustainability commitments and values, this role will also lead on key sustainability activities on behalf of the channel. In particular, supporting the deployment of the CARE (Carbon Accounting & Reduction Engine) program and driving any resulting initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint of CEP-owned infrastructure, towards a ‘GreenOps’ model.
Finally, the role will also be immersed into the day-to-day operational performance of the digital bank, with opportunities of training to develop data analysis skills.
Key Accountabilities:
Contribute to the transformation strategy and design of the Digital Bank’s future run operating model, initiating proof-of-concepts where necessary and driving the implementation of transformation activities
Provide research insights that would feed into our strategic initiatives
Lead on sustainability activities to reduce the CO2 footprint of the CEP-owned estate, as a result of recommendations made from the (in-development) CARE solution
Work with wider sustainability initiatives and teams to drive the move towards a GreenOps model within LBG
Support the production of monthly operational insights for the digital channels (i.e. mobile apps, desktop, Open Banking) using performance and capacity management toolsets
Support the DD&S lab lead with internal & external research for various adhoc technology and strategic topics
Regularly present succinct and effective reports and presentations to partners across the organisation to influence decisions and drive business outcomes
Utilise your relationships to advocate change and educate colleagues on the news ways of working
What you’ll bring:
Transformation experience in an operational environment
Experience delivering projects/initiatives and technology/process improvements
A strategic mentality and self-motivation to use multiple sources of information to contribute towards strategic decisions
Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and assess how they can transform our existing model
Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to clearly articulate and present technical concepts to audiences that vary in seniority and technical competence
Beneficial -
Experience of data analysis & production of business or operational insights
Experience working in a service management field for a large organisation
An understanding of technical architecture and application stacks
What support will I get and how will my career grow?
As well as the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge into how we operate and maintain the UK’s largest digital bank, this role will also play a key part in the group’s move to a more sustainable future.
