Security and compliance run through every aspect of the operation of the Digital Technologies department and is at the core of all services Digital Technologies delivers to staff and students. We ensure that the University is protected by safeguarding all personal and confidential data and information by developing, delivering, and enforcing a comprehensive scope of digital security technical arrangements. The Digital Security Analyst is a new role within the central Digital Security and Compliance team of Digital Technologies and has a remit across the whole department. It is a fantastic opportunity for those with experience, or an interest, in cyber security who want to make a genuine difference for our students and staff by protecting them, their data, and the infrastructure that underpins their day-to-day activities. As the successful post holder, you will play a pivotal role in proactively enhancing the University's security posture. Working with colleagues within the team and the broader Digital Technologies Department, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security threats, helping to implement critical audit recommendations, and ensuring the University complies with such accreditation frameworks as Cyber Essentials. You will also contribute to developing and maintaining Information Security policies, standards, and guidelines, as well as delivering essential cyber security training and be a subject matter expert when dealing with enquiries from departmental colleagues, other University staff, and students. We are actively seeking individuals who can think critically and find creative solutions to often complex problems. Being a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills is crucial to this role. Whether working closely with Digital Technologies colleagues to remedy security issues, advising staff at all levels regarding cyber security matters, or delivering engaging training courses, the individual needs the ability to tailor their message to the audience they are communicating with.
