Digital Product Strategy Manager
Within Consumer Digital, the Digital Product Strategy team plays a critical role in driving innovation, product opportunity discovery and development: we set the overall BT Digital strategy for Consumer and we are the engine room developing future outcomes required for our customers. We work across multiple business units (e.g., covering needed updates to strategies and developing product strategies and strategic capabilities.
- Contribute to the creation and communicate of a clearly-defined and compelling digital long-term strategy
- Support and facilitate resolution and development of strategic questions and ensure engagement and ownership from key stakeholders on a working level. Key tasks include:
- Breaking down a key question and framing the approach to investigate it with Product teams (briefing and alignment, sprint 0 planning)
- Identifying strategic options to resolve the issue (decision frameworks, Business Cases, Product Analysis Tools)
- Developing recommendations and associated investment/business cases, based on research, insight, analysis, best practice, and experience.
- Communicate strategies to stakeholders and teams to drive alignment and purpose
- Work with senior members of the team (director and MD level) to create strategic presentations that can influence, communicate direction and report progress on value delivered to customers and the business
- Can adapt how we message and communicate based on the different types of stakeholders, inc. team level, leadership, company-wide and board members as well as externally to investors and thought leadership events
- Remain abreast of industry and disruptive trends to inform your strategies and ideas and explore new and exciting ways to engage customers and prospects.
- Grow strong relationships and drive collaboration with multiple stakeholders and partnerships through a demonstration of industry knowledge, strategic thinking, and the application of this to solve challenges.
- Lead in developing strategic and product led frameworks, processes and capabilities that can be reused and adopted across product teams
- Act as a positive role model, leading by example, promoting a one team behaviour, as aligned to the Digital Way
- Proactively share knowledge with the organization, working to increase digital understanding and strategy across the business
- Drive cross department collaboration within EE and BT, to seamlessly link different business units and strategies together
- An entrepreneurial spirit, brilliant at spotting external trends and awareness of developing commercially disruptive solutions
- A passion for excellence in the delivery of digital thinking and solutions
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to define and manage requirements effectively and in a timely manner
- Skilled working with quantitative and qualitative data, creating insightful, intelligent frameworks to drive decisions
- Passionate at driving strategy and innovation through product management and agile approaches
- Excellent planning and project management skills; great at execution and detail orientated
- Ability to manage large number of fragmented stakeholders
- Strong communication and presentation skills and ability articulate new approaches to a variety of different backgrounds and levels of seniority (inc. director, MD and CEO), cultures and perspectives
- Ability to facilitate collaborative environment and manage differing motivations to steer to fruitful outcomes and solve complex issues
- Curious and self-motivated with a desire to deliver high standards and to promote this quality in others
- Ideally, have 2 year’s experience in concepting and scaling innovative products, services or digital experiences and/or involved in shaping and contributing towards business and product strategies.
