Job description

We’re looking for an experienced digital product manager, ideally with experience of delivering a similar project within a large matrix organisation. This role will work in partnership with a wide variety of stakeholders and internal and external IT teams within an agile framework.

This is an exciting opportunity to improve the day-to-day experience of our employees. You’ll be product manager for the new platform that will replace the Trust’s intranet and transforming our digital internal communications. You’ll work closely with the IT Project Manager to define the scope of the project and future backlog.

This is a fixed term contract or a potential secondment opportunity and runs for two years from November 2023.

This post is contractually based at our head office in Swindon. There will be an opportunity to explore and agree remote working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. This role is open to flexible working arrangements including part-time and job share options.

What you'll be doing:You'll be responsible for defining the functional project deliverables. Creating user stories and ensuring they are delivered. Your track record of getting the best from your delivery teams and working in a highly collaborative way with colleagues will enable you to work closely with content, design and UX teams, championing user-centred practices to both serve and delight your target customers.

As an experienced and driven digital product manager, you'll use the knowledge you've gained in delivering successful large and complex digital products from idea to reality, employing project management practices, both Agile and PRINCE2, as well as your understanding of product development lifecycles.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Demonstrate Digital Product/Project management lifecycles, processes and practices knowledge, including governance requirements to a level of subject matter expert
  • Are a practitioner of Agile delivery methods
  • Show successful management of major, strategic or complex product portfolios in a multi-disciplined environment focused on digital marketing, web, app and internet technologies
  • Have experience of developing Digital Product Strategies and Roadmaps
  • Possess significant experience in planning and estimating, including financial considerations
  • Have experience managing development of and working directly with large-scale intranets or content management systems.
  • Have an excellent understanding of accessibility standards and how to apply them.
  • Be confident in carrying out user and best practice research.
