The Role
Sotheby's is defining and building state-of-the-art systems to automate, optimize, and enhance our client journeys and internal tools. We're looking for a bright, collaborative and driven individual interested in auction management, working closely with Product & Technology and our colleagues across the business, and assisting end users through exceptional customer service.
As the Digital Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting sales throughout the auction lifecycle, managing the creation and execution of Sotheby's live and online-only auctions as well as providing end user support and adoption through training and documentation. This role will work closely with Specialist Departments and the Auction Ops teams from the point of sale creation through the day of the auction and all points in between. The Coordinator will report to the Customer Success Manager and work very closely with both the London and New York teams.
The Digital Operations Coordinator will function as a liaison between the specialist departments, marketing, operations, as well as the product team, demonstrating a strong understanding of technology and auction processes. Candidates should be quick to adapt to changing processes and thrive in a variety of assigned tasks. The Coordinator will also aid in diagnosing any technical issues they may encounter, as well as assist in the triaging and potential resolution of such issues. The ideal candidate is comfortable collaborating with colleagues at all levels of the business and is well organized and self-motivated with a propensity for both written and verbal communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside the Cataloguing and Auction Product Workstreams to define processes, escalations, issues, etc.
- Support the transformation and implementation of Sotheby's technology, creating documentation as well as best practices, educating various departments, facilitating support, and communication between teams
- Support escalations in times of business impacting outages or service disruptions
- Manage incoming end user support and facilitate requests and feedback to the product team
- Manage department requests throughout Auction period, including pricing bid changes, withdrawing lots, adding saleroom notices
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- 2-3 years experience in a digital environment, preferably in a client-facing role
- Exceptional communication, organizational, interpersonal, relationship-building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional environment
- Comfortable in front of groups, in a presentation setting
- Highly organized, collaborative and adaptive, with the ability to work calmly and professionally under pressured, time sensitive deadlines
- Ability to communicate priorities and manage expectations as it pertains to sale creation timelines with departments
- Experience in facilitating and implementing cross-departmental initiatives including project management
