Grant Thornton UK LLP is on journey of digital transformation, and within our Markets and Clients team there are a number of exciting digital marketing developments aimed to help the business achieve its growth ambitions.
We are looking for someone who can contribute to this thinking; skilfully bring together people, platforms and processes in tandem to deliver a world class digital experience for our key audiences. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer you will be responsible for co creating and maintaining our digital roadmap alongside the M&C leadership team, aimed at bringing our brand to life, strengthening commercial opportunities and relationships.
This is a multifaceted role, requiring mid to senior level digital marketing expertise and leadership.
You will be a self-motivated, calm leader with exceptional collaborative influencing skills and outstanding relationship building skills.
Ideally you will be from the B2B or professional services industry.

A look into the role
As our Digital Marketing lead within our Markets and Clients team, you will be responsible for the following areas:
  • Supporting our ‘digital first’ strategy and presence through collaboration across the Markets and Clients leadership team and the Firm’s Digital Transformation team, to drive measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Owning and managing our digital marketing budget, ensuring our marketing technology investments are being optimised and reviewed on a continual basis to ensure maximum value creation.
  • Leading and supporting our business critical digital and data led projects such as the continuous improvement of grantthornton.co.uk, our marketing automation approach and GDPR thinking for eg. – working closely with, and supporting project leads in these areas.
  • Working closely with the Grant Thornton International digital team to ensure the UK Firm is deploying and optimising best practice at a local level.
  • Working closely with marketing leadership colleagues and the broader business to focus on our user experience across our digital platforms considering the experience for our clients, prospects, talent and our broad community of stakeholders
  • Aligning with the Firm’s Client Lifecycle Project and strategy (CRM migration) ensuring sales and marketing alignment throughout the funnel
  • Leading by example and coaching a happy and highly motivated team of experts to success, people manager for our web and automation teams.
  • Ensuring that the tools are in place for reporting and measurement at both a channel, and campaign level – allowing for self-serve approaches from the marketing team as well as enabling a rigorous test and learn approach within the digital team itself
  • Familiarising yourself with current and future trends in the digital environment, ensuring that our digital marketing roadmap is fresh, and we are optimising our current approach.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and experimentation across your team as well as harnessing expertise, developing processes, driving excellence and removing barriers to performance.
  • Working closely with the CMO and the firm’s Digital Transformation team to drive awareness, adoption and engagement of our digital first strategy, ensuring the firm makes best use of digital in its marketing and growth activities. This will include playing a coaching role for our marketing and BD colleagues across the Firm.
Knowing you’re right for us
Joining us as our Digital Marketing lead, the minimum criteria you’ll need is a Degree or equivalent and CIM diploma or equivalent. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way. Also, in terms of experience, we are looking for you to be:
  • A highly proactive, progressive, and analytical mindset
  • Established digital leader with solid experience of leading teams
  • Proven track record of delivering technical or digital projects that meet business outcomes and drive value for the business
  • Substantial experience with leading Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • Thorough understanding of UX
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Optimise
  • Understanding of technical SEO
  • Strong understanding of Marketing Automation principles (esp. Marketo/Pardot/Hubspot/MS Dynamics) and its practical application
  • Have strong core project management skills, demonstrating the ability to manage projects from end to end to timescale and positive outcome
  • Experience of managing financial budgets (project budgeting, monitoring costs etc)
