Digital Marketing Executive
Location: Big Motoring World Head Office, Gillingham Business Park, Kent
Salary: From £28,000 DOE
We are Big Motoring World, the UK’s fast growing, multi-award winning Car Supermarket group. In lines with our growth plan, we are expanding our digital marketing team.
We’re looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Executive who is seeking the next step in their career to join our expanding marketing team based at Gillingham in Kent.
Do you want to be working with passion in a fast-paced digital environment within the automotive industry for one of the UK’s largest car supermarket groups? Can you apply your digital marketing skills and knowledge to create and manage multiple campaigns across a variety of digital platforms?
As our Digital Marketing Executive, you’ll be responsible for the execution, optimisation and reporting of all our digital marketing activities.
The objective is to drive website traffic, grow our social following and engagements, increase our online conversions and conversion rates, and increase our brand awareness and exposure across the digital space.
Your day
- Maintain and update the Group website as and when required.
- Continually review and enhance the content on the Group website to ensure it is optimised for mobile, tablet and desktop and ensuring it’s structured and optimised for best SEO practice.
- Liaise with the internal development team to ensure bugs are fixed on the website, campaigns are optimised and the website is continually evolving.
- Update the Group blog with relevant news stories from around the Group and industry.
- Manage social media platforms
- Any tasks that are reasonable and required for business needs.
Social Media
- Generate own content and liaise with our internal videographer/photo to regularly produce content.
- Actively seek out relevant and interesting content from sources such as external websites, industry news sites, as well as directly from our dealerships and prep centre.
- Schedule engaging content for the Group’s social media accounts by publishing posts, competitions and offers across multiple channels.
- Continuously seek to identify key trends, hashtags and industry authorities with the aim to utilise opportunities to increase engagement.
- Create, post and monitor social media campaigns and boosted posts where required.
- Report on social media metrics.
Search Engine Optimisation
- Work with our search agency and internal teams to highlight new opportunities and keyword focus, through conducting keyword research and usage of their third party SEO platform.
- Regularly monitor keyword performance rankings by tracking terms over time through keyword reports.
- Optimise on-page elements around our keyword focus, including updates of Meta Titles, Meta Descriptions, H1s, Alt Tags and on-page content.
- Frequently review inbound links to the website, ensuring that links are optimised, relevant and not damaging to our online reputation or SEO performance.
- Actively build organic links through online PR opportunities, social opportunities and any third party opportunities such as sponsorships and relevant directories/blogs.
General Marketing
- Work closely with the wider Marketing Team to contribute ideas to support wider marketing campaigns.
- Adhere to and work within the guidelines set by General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at all times.

Essential:
- Understanding and practical use of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn & TikTok.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles, although on-the-job training will be available to grow your knowledge.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Desirable:
- Completed a marketing-based qualification, such as a degree or CIM course.
- Minimum of 1-year experience within a Digital Marketing role.
- Experience in leading by example and assisting colleagues in past roles.
- Delivery of targets and deadlines in a previous role.
Hours of work
9:00am – 6:00pm with an hour for lunch Monday to Friday.
