Job Title: Digital Marketing & Digital Fundraising Lead
Contract: Part-time/Full-time
Salary: c. £30k FTE Dependent on skills and experience

Accountable to: Chief Executive
Location: Flexible with a mix of work from home and some time spent at Headway Sussex in Newick as needed. Cross country travel is occasionally required.
Overview
This role will drive Headway Sussex forward as it embraces and embeds a digital culture in to both its marketing and fundraising, underpinning our countywide services and ensuring sustainability.

Job Summary
Develop our digital strategy, own all aspects of marketing plus use digital platforms to reach new clients and supporters and expand Headway Sussex networks. Work closely with the Grants, Trusts and Corporate Fundraising Lead to maximise and support digital fundraising opportunities.
Establish seamless, easy-use information flow about Headway Sussex services and external client support and ensure the charity stands out online.
Set Headway up to fully embrace digital culture, ensure high quality customer relations and maximise stakeholder engagement. Achieve excellence in communications, marketing, fundraising and digital profile. Fully promote digital inclusion of clients, family carers and all partnership colleagues and organisations.
Link with the programme leads to promote the Living Well Programme. Optimise the Headway Sussex website, use of all social media activity and design and deliver campaigns.
Raise the charity’s profile to present Headway Sussex as a trusted specialist provider charity. Help motivate and upskill the workforce in using digital resources and to improve efficiency of Headway systems.
Detailed Job Specification
1. Lead marketing activity, promoting services across a range of channels to raise awareness and secure new income streams (including offline, social media and digital). Ensure Headway Sussex maximises supporter and donor engagement opportunity county-wide and in town communities.
2. Lead initiatives to establish and energise a strong digital communications and engagement culture and achieve high quality customer service and relations. Motivate the workforce in raising standards including for liaison with stakeholders, partners (clients, carers, case managers, brokers, practitioners) and the wider community.
3. Lead organisation-wide activity to grow social networks and increase digital presence across media platforms. Develop, deliver and monitor internal and external communications including PR, copywriting, promotional collateral, content marketing and news bulletins.
4. Optimise quality of the Headway Sussex website and social media accounts. Ensure strong Headway Sussex brand to promote the Living Well Programme and increase web-based enquiries and response. As brand guardian ensure all communications carry the correct and consistent messaging and visual identity.
5. Seek out new opportunities to publicise the work of Headway Sussex to widen engagement and strengthen fundraising activity. Prepare engaging content to support funding bids and plan, design and deliver marketing and awareness raising campaigns.
6. Increase the number and range of Headway Sussex contacts in line with targets. Cultivate regular Headway Sussex communications with clients, family carers, supporters, volunteers and donors. Manage circulation lists and business tool accounts (e.g. Mailchimp, Eventbrite, video-conferencing etc) and use of fundraising and online giving platforms.
7. Use digital fundraising to form strong, cohesive messaging and campaigns to expand our existing and develop a new thriving individual donor base. Identify and market to new partners and stakeholders to generate income from the charity’s sellable services. Develop and increase our legacy and payroll donations through targeted digital campaigns. Seek and use existing and new digital fundraising to increase the charities unrestricted income.
8. Provide expert leadership in digital innovation and ensure high quality customer relations and stakeholder involvement underpins growth. Help Headway achieve full business potential and contribute proactively to shape future strategy and sustainability.
9. Support the Living Well Programme Team in developing the online offer. Coordinate up-to- date and real-time information about Headway Sussex services across all platforms. Encourage staff to generate content for media feeds.
10. Produce online newsletters and bulletins to publicise good news, lived experience and latest information on brain injury and services.
11. Prepare engaging blogs, media reports, press releases and promotional materials for events and social media. Generate/source easy-use marketing materials including design and supply of creative graphics, photo resource library and publicity materials for shared use.
12. Train and support Living Well Programme colleagues in use of digital platforms and in adapting to digital mindset, culture and creativity. Help Headway Sussex access digital training and learning resources and ways to support clients in using digital technology (webinars, tools, e-learning programmes).
13. Actively connect with Headway UK and other Headway organisations to share and update all relevant information and help broaden client support opportunities locally and using digital media.
Person Specification
Proven strong digital and excellent communication skills coupled with an aptitude for business efficiency.
Experienced digital marketing professional, passionate about making it easy for customers to interact
Experience in use of information database and CRM systems
Working knowledge of MS programme suite inc Excel, videoconferencing, SM
channels and business intelligence tools.
Creative and skilled in use of photoshop or similar software, strong writing, editing,
proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills
Understanding of working in health, social care or a VCS organisation supporting
vulnerable people - charity, CIC, SME (preferably in comms, marketing or fundraising) (desirable)
Confident, communicator and presenter with demonstrable excellent interpersonal
skills across all media, able to present concepts verbally.
Committed to continuous improvement and personal development.
Entrepreneurial self-starter, up to date on current trends in digital/social media, able
to motivate colleagues in new ways of working.
Team player with strong customer-focus who works collaboratively and manages
time efficiently
Committed to deliver the purpose and vision of Headway and person-centred ethos
Car driver with current licence and access to own vehicle
Professional Qualifications & Education
Holds relevant professional qualification - higher education, diploma or degree level
(marketing, management, business, IT)
Current or previous member of CIM (desirable)

General Responsibilities
▪ To undertake any other duties at the request of the Chief Executive which are commensurate with the role

▪ Leave: the total annual leave entitlement is 20 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) plus 2 fixed days - Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Public and Statutory Bank Holidays (8) are additional. Those which fall on normal working days must be taken as annual leave.
▪ Pension Scheme: Headway operates a pension scheme into which staff are automatically enrolled on successful completion of the probation period unless they choose to opt out
