ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you’ll be responsible for developing and managing digital marketing plans across the website, online advertising – with a focus on paid social campaigns – and online customer acquisition. This role includes implementing SEO strategy, the optimisation of all digital channels and running and executing paid social campaigns to support the overall marketing and business plans.
You will need to be analytical, data-driven comfortable with managing budgets and come armed with an excellent understanding of Google Analytics and Meta tools. In this role you will work alongside an external digital marketing agency to achieve fantastic results across SEO and PPC and you will report to the Marketing Manager.
This is a full-time role based in the North of England and the South of Scotland. Hybrid and remote working requests will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Create, implement and manage digital marketing plans – working closely with our marketing team and digital marketing agency - to support customer acquisition and revenue targets.
- Coordinate digital activity with marketing plans to maximise engagement and drive customer acquisition from online channels including email marketing, SEO, paid search and paid social.
- Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels.
- Daily ownership and management of the website, including working alongside our web developer to ensure improve and streamline functionality.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the SEO landscape and capability to carry out onsite and offsite SEO activity such as copywriting, technical SEO optimisations and link building.
- Optimise and restructure web content to increase user engagement.
- Create, populate and optimise new creative and landing pages to support marketing activities.
- Analyse web traffic metrics to find opportunities for optimising and improving audience website and digital channel performance.
- Plan, execute and measure campaigns and conversion tests. Identify conversion points, optimise marketing funnels and utilise offline channels where appropriate.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute digital marketing campaigns. This will include working with external agencies to deliver creative assets.
- Ownership of digital analytics (Google Analytics, knowledge of GA4 is beneficial, Google trends, Facebook business manager and Meta suites) and provision of monthly/quarterly reports on digital marketing performance and campaigns.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis of all digital marketing campaigns. Communicate findings to key stakeholders and present proposals for improvements in future digital marketing campaigns.
- Help to support the teams with Analytics expertise and delivering actionable insight and statistics to C&C staff when necessary.
- Identify trends and insights, and optimise customer experience, spending and performance of properties based on insights.
- Regular competitor analysis, staying up to date with industry trends.
- Other duties as requested by the Marketing Manager.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with a natural creative flair and a passion for marketing. As well as the following knowledge, skills and experience:
Essential
- A degree in marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working in a similar digital marketing role.
- Experience managing paid social platforms, including but not limited to Meta, or LinkedIn.
- Good working knowledge of social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
- Proven track record of successfully driving and increasing sales and conversion rates online.
- A good grasp of SEO strategies to maximise organic traffic and growth.
- A deep understanding of analytics and the ability to create measurement strategies, tracking KPIs to assess campaign performance and identify issues.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Previous experience creating content and copywriting for digital platforms.
- Comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels of experience and seniority.
- A clear and concise communication style in both written and spoken English.
- Adept at building relationships with stakeholders internal and external to the business.
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workload to achieve agreed deadlines.
- An eye for detail – especially in the context of copywriting.
Desirable
- A genuine passion for and knowledge of the local area and the travel industry.
- A high level of understanding of audience segmentation and targeted messaging.
- An analytical mindset and creative flair.
- The desire to stay on top of changing trends and algorithms in the digital marketing industry and a willingness to share your findings with the marketing team to maintain a competitive edge.
- Experience using the following marketing and design tools: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Ad Words, keyword research tools, Mailchimp, Canva.
