Commerce & Digital Marketing Executive (from £30,000 to £35,000)

Reporting into the Commerce Manager, the Commerce & Digital Marketing Executive will provide key marketing support to ensure optimised delivery of commerce revenues across all BBC Gardeners’ World magazine platforms - combining print-based reader and subscriber offers with the (growing) digital reach across GW.com, email newsletters and social media. The role requires a combination of digital and consumer marketing skills with an appetite for commerce / sales optimisation.
Key responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Working with the Commerce Manager to source, deliver and develop commerce opportunities relevant to the GW audience(s).

- Events and Travel
- Operational delivery of commerce / offers across all GW platforms (print, digital, live)Campaign creation and delivery
- Tracking & Optimisation of campaigns using all available data sources
- Implement offers across social platforms including use of video formats
- Creating and maintaining quarterly promotional planners (roadmaps/promo plans/Trello boards
- Client liaison and junior account management
- Supplier recruitment
- Performance reporting (e.g., monthly email commission doc)
- Provide insight to support strategy
- Stay up to date with the latest technology and best practices and share with team
- Conduct research on user-friendly features and layouts that appeal the most to customers
- Maintaining online feedback and testimonials on travel and event page
- Maintain all marketing materials ensuring they are compliant with brand, legal and corporate identity
- GW representation and attendance at events
Requirements
- Experience in a marketing executive role or equivalent
- Experience of running marketing or commerce / retail campaigns using a range of marketing channels and techniques
- Understanding of all marketing channels, including print, email marketing, on-site inventory, and social media
- Strong software and analytics skills – Excel, Powerpoint, Photoshop, GA, Social Media dashboard (such as Spinklr or similar), Email platform (such as Adestra), CMS familiarity (such as Wordpress)
- Copywriting and marketing asset creation skills
- High level of data literacy in respect of marketing channel reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Close attention to detail, strong planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritise workload and be calm under pressure
- Ability to think creatively and analytically
- Basic knowledge in gardening and/or an interest in horticulture/outdoor lifestyle preferred
