We are looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist, Social Media to join our Marketing team. Our ideal candidate is perceptive, collaborative, and agile with sharp strategic instincts. You know what's on-trend in the digital space, and love creating experiences through content. Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing, the Digital Marketing Specialist, Social Media, will play a key role in supporting management of our social media accounts by implementing strategies and tactics that enhance our brand visibility, grow our following, engage with our target audience, and drive customer acquisition and loyalty through strategic social media campaigns. Your primary responsibilities will include content creation, community management, and data analysis and reporting across our various focus social media accounts.
Location: Remote with preference to candidates located in IL, MI, OH, MA, NJ, PA, MD.
Primary Responsibilities:
This position will play a crucial role in supporting the digital and social media team by actively contributing to content creation, community management, and data analysis, thereby enhancing our overall social media presence, engagement, and brand awareness. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of integrated and digital marketing and the role social media and digital brand presence play in integrated marketing.
Content Creation:
- Develop and execute creative content strategies and calendar for our 12+ social media accounts, including but not limited to Meta, Instagram, and LinkedIn for retail, brand, cultivation and more.
- Create two compelling and visually appealing pieces of content per week, aligned with brand guidelines, industry trends, compliance regulations, and platform content guidelines and consumer preferences to grow audience and build our digital community.
- Collaborate cross functionally with internal teams and outside agencies to ensure content consistency and brand voice across all channels.
- Utilize multimedia formats (images, videos, GIFs) to maximize engagement and reach.
Community Management:
- Actively engage with our social media community, respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster positive relationships with followers, influencers, and industry partners, representing our brand as a knowledgeable and approachable resource.
- Monitor and report on trends, discussions, and feedback within the cannabis community, providing valuable insights to the team.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize social media analytics tools to track and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement, reach, and conversion rates.
- Compile regular reports detailing campaign performance, audience demographics, and social media trends, and present actionable recommendations for improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on social media management and content creation
- General understanding of marketing, marketing strategy, and brand strategy and the ability to tie social media execution to those strategies
- Understanding of the cannabis industry is strongly preferred; including regulations, trends, and consumer preferences is strongly preferred
- CPG experience a plus
- Ability to develop a strong understanding of target consumers and customers (shoppers)
- Proven track record of successfully managing social media accounts and driving engagement and growth
- Proficient in content creation and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt the brand voice for various target audiences
- Analytical mindset with experience in social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Brandwatch, Meta Business) and data reporting
- Passionate about social media, digital marketing, and staying up to date with emerging trends and platforms
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines consistently
- Ability to create and foster great relationships, including both the workplace as well as with consumers (social media community / followers)
- A creative thinker with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and storytelling
- Ability to present to other members of the team, department, and cross-functionally
- Personable, Passionate, technically savvy, and resourceful
- Must have flexibility to occasionally work outside regular business hours to support events and community management
- Highly motivated, self-starter, with a whatever it takes mindset and attitude - driven to ascend within our organization
- Must be 21 years of age or older

AWH offers a comprehensive compensation package for this role that includes base salary, bonus opportunity, and flexible time off. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $60,000 and $70,000.
