The Role

Join our five-star team and help us present The Headland as Cornwall’s top luxury hotel and spa by continuing to build a strong online profile and develop an exceptional social media presence that’s considered exemplar in the sector.


This is a role that demands creativity and strong analytical skills as we develop content to appeal to our different audiences through mix of exceptional photography, video, and inspiring copy.


About You

This is a role where you can truly be guest centric and creative. We are looking for someone driven, creative and full of ideas. The role will be truly diverse and will involve input and support across all the digital marketing channels and consulting with Department Heads across the hotel for content. You will have the responsibility of managing your own projects from start to finish and delivering The Headland brand across all media platforms.

The role will be based here at the Hotel in Newquay with stunning views of the sea and a beautiful grade two listed building. The perfect setting to get your creative flair flowing and capturing cosy, punchy and adventurous footage to keep our guests intrigued and excited and to see what’s coming next.

Online Content Creation

  • Developing inspiring, consistent and meaningful content across the social media channels. This would be through engaging video content and evocative imagery of which you’d be responsible for capturing, editing and publishing. Writing and editing copy which embodies The Headland – tailored to each channel, with considered calls to action.
  • Preparing social media content plans that are consistent with the brands identity and support the sales campaigns both reactively with live content and considering the forward planning goals. The ability to use a social media scheduling tool will enable this process to be managed effectively.
  • Research, connect and retain strong relationships with online influencers and content creators to help amplify The Headland’s reach to core audiences.


Social Media Management

  • Recommending which platforms to use, primarily working across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and develop TikTok.
  • Manage all communications on social media platforms by responding to queries in a timely manner in the appropriate tone of voice.
  • Using and analysing the data tracked in tools such as Google Analytics and social channel insights to evaluate the online presence, impact, and performance with attention to ROI.
  • Deliver a weekly and monthly review report to the Commercial and General Manager on social media marketing impact, audience engagement and the growth achieved, with goals outlined for month(s) to follow.
  • Staying up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.


Website Management

  • Responsible for keeping the website content relevant and up to date. Making offer changes, uploading new blog content and ensuring seasonal messages are promoted effectively through the touch points.
  • Deliver a weekly and monthly review report to the Commercial and General Manager on top-line website performance and suggestions for improving. Working with SEO agency to ensure website is developing and working as it should.
  • Using and analysing the data tracked in tools such as Google Analytic to evaluate the website performance and customer journey from acquisition to conversion.


Email Marketing

  • Supporting on email data management to help build databases and delivering tailored, personalised content. Maintaining and cleaning databases as appropriate.
  • Planning and creating a clear schedule for email campaigns for The Headland and it’s specific markets.
  • Creating regular e-newsletters to issue to guests with promotional content, future events and celebrations.
  • Using and analysing the data tracked in tools such as Google Analytics and Campaign Monitor insights to evaluate campaign impact and performance with attention to ROI.


Skills & Experience

  • Confident with a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, with an aptitude for multi-tasking and managing priorities and short deadlines.
  • Ability to follow best practice with experience across social platforms.
  • Copyrighting skills that are sharp, memorable and will keep followers engaged.
  • First-class multimedia content creator and editing skills.
  • A flair for creating reports and presentations.
  • Attention to detail with excellent spelling and grammar.


Salary and Contract

This is a full-time permanent position based on a 40-hour working week including weekends and bank holidays. Salary for this position is up to £25,000 dependant on experience.

In line with UK Immigration and Employment Law, only applicants eligible to live and work in the UK need apply. Proof of ID will be required in the form of a Passport, National Identity Card or Birth Certificate.
