About The Role
The About Thetford Magazine is entering an exciting period of expansion and looking for a Digital Editorial Assistant to join our small three-person editorial team. The role will be involve creating a monthly print edition of the magazine, along with digital content for our new website, app and monthly newsletter. You will also work on a wide variety of business-to-business and business-to-customer projects across a variety of media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google. You will be working closely with the Assistant Editor and Marketing Officer and our Web Development contractor to help maximise the revenue and reach of About Thetford. The Digital Editorial Assistant will have the amazing opportunity to go to local press events, write event reports and pitch features.
About The Duties
As our Digital Editor Assistant you will create content for our website/app as directed, including creating, editing and uploading short videos and articles. You will also create content for monthly newsletter and liaise with new and existing advertisers and contributors. As a part of the team you will support production of each monthly publication and if needed assist with the delivery of the magazine. Whilst this is a part time position we hope to develop into a full time position eventually.
About You
- Must be familiar with posting original content across a variety of online platforms
( Such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
- Aware of best practices across the above social media platforms.
- Experience with social media ad platforms and Google Tag Manager.
- Familiar with Google Analytics and SEO, able to create data reports.
- Excellent written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to proofread to a high standard and create/edit short promotional videos.
- Must be well organised and able to manage multiple projects at once.
- Able to manage tight deadlines and keep calm under pressure.
- Comfortable working as part of a team, with great customer interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate with advertisers and contributors as directed.
