Job description
Eucalyptus (or 'Euc' for short) is a healthcare technology organisation on a mission to deliver high-touch, high-quality care to millions of patients. We have 4 healthcare brands that form the connective tissue between telehealth consults with doctors, pharmacy delivery and ongoing patient care. Our goal is to provide a differentiated and comprehensive care experience for a wide variety of patients and conditions.
We're well funded, having raised over $100M with our Series C round led by Aussie and US venture capital funds who were early backers of Airbnb, Canva, Uber, and Spotify.
We're not your typical start-up, and we don't want typical candidates either. If you're an out-of-the-box thinker, a trendsetter, a risk-taker, and passionate about making a difference in the world, and be a part of building something extraordinary – keep on reading!
London-based digital designers, we want you! We're looking for a designer with a hunger for creating, a passion for your craft, and the motivation to join a close-knit startup working on an ambitious goal. This is a great opportunity for someone who is driven by making work that makes a difference, values a fresh & modern approach to design, and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.
Eucalyptus is on a mission to revolutionise healthcare, and we need YOU to be a part of our team building Eucalyptus in the UK!
Why join Eucalyptus?
We are building the future of accessible, patient-centric healthcare!
We have built a technology platform that brings high touch healthcare into the internet age. We plug into doctors, specialists and pharmacies to provide high quality, convenient health products and services.
Our platform currently has 4 healthcare brands that serve patients with different needs and at all stages of their life.
- Pilot provides men with a safe space to access care for sexual health, hair and weight
- Kin supports a woman's entire fertility and health journey
- Software makes it easy to access effective anti-aging and acne treatment
- Juniper supports older women through menopause and their weight loss journey
In just 3 years, we have helped over 200,000 patients across our four brands. And yet, we believe we have only scratched the surface of what is possible in digital healthcare.
How do we work at Eucalyptus?
You'll be surrounded by a world-class team of thinkers, designers, engineers and leaders who are obsessed with three things:
- The health and wellbeing of the average person
- Creating personalised, engaging, convenient user-experiences
- Making healthcare fun and interesting (because it is)
The organisation is flat and decision making happens regularly and rapidly at every level of the business. Ultimately, people are given the freedom to make decisions (and mistakes), and learn from the journey. We like to set goals with the mindset that if we hit them all, we haven't challenged ourselves enough.
Why you'll thrive here
Here are the highlights:
- Come and experience the growth at one of the fastest growing startups (LinkedIn #5 fastest growing startups in Australia) while we are still small (~250 people).
- Push yourself with challenges that are world-first, unique and exhilarating.
- See the meaningful impact of your work on over tens of thousands of actual users (check out the customers that love us!)
- Learn from some of Australia's best marketers, engineers, creatives, operations specialists, and medical professionals - joining a diverse team from Atlassian, Canva, Google, Koala, McKinsey, Bain, BuzzFeed, Optiver, Halter and many many more.
- A share in the company (equity), so you are rewarded for your best work.
- And also it goes without saying: hybrid work set-up, parental leave, wellness benefits, employee discounts, social clubs sponsorships, and learning and development budgets for all of our staff.
- Life is too short to not be curious
Euc also offers amazing benefits to our permanent staff based in our London HQ office:
- Hybrid work setup to work flexibly from home, and enjoy time in the office with your colleagues.
- Eucalyptus and brand merchandise designed by our very own in-house creative team.
- Work from the UK and maintain high collaboration with the teams in Australia.
- Drive meaningful impact for tens of thousands of actual patients through your work, helping them live healthier, happier and longer lives
- Offer a competitive remuneration package plus government contributions
- Fun office parties and team dinners so you can bond with your team regularly
What's in it for you?
Make an impact. As a Digital Designer at Eucalyptus, you'll be crafting experiences that positively affect our customers' health and confidence. Be proud of the work you do, knowing it's making a real difference in people's lives.
Shape the future. You'll play a key role in establishing our first UK brand (launched last April!), Juniper, and its website. Help us create beautiful & welcoming experiences as we destigmatise healthcare and guide patients on their health journeys.
Embrace startup life. Join a small, agile team where you'll have the freedom to move fast, iterate, and scale what works. Be a part of our close-knit community and grow alongside the fastest-growing healthcare companies in Australia and the UK.
Be the design champion: At Eucalyptus, you won't just be executing briefs. You'll lead design experiences from end to end - from research to performance analysis - and continuously refine your work.
Why Eucalyptus?
Eucalyptus (Euc for short) is Australia's fastest-growing healthcare company with five brands in its portfolio, each one changing the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in a broad range of demographics and health conditions. Recently, we've settled new roots in central London, and we're ready to shake up the UK healthcare scene.
Join us now and become an integral part of Eucalyptus' UK adventure.
Forget the agency world:
- No more pitches. At Eucalyptus, we grow our business by launching more brands or products, not by pitching for new clients. This means that your energy always goes into making an impact from day one.
- Turbocharge your portfolio. 3 months at Eucalyptus equals a year's worth of agency work. We have the resourcing and budgets to let good ideas thrive, and work isn't watered down by things like clients or 60-page brand strategy docs & client feedback.
- Design with purpose. We are not selling Ferrari sports cars or Adidas shoes. All of our brands have an immensely positive impact on our patients' health & confidence
- Real-world Impact, not awards. Your work will be judged by its effectiveness, not by the opinions of industry veterans at award ceremonies.
- Own the creative process. Your execution won't be limited to work that comes directly from briefs. If you've got ideas that you think would work in certain mediums, we'll make them come to life.
What you'll do:
- Create beautiful, intuitive, and effective digital experiences that build trust in our healthcare brand and spark joy in our users
- Work with the creative lead, copywriter, developers, and marketers to design website experiences and online advertising (broad job scope initially as the sole designer in the UK, with pathways to specialise in one stream as the team grows)
- Use Figma to turn an idea, brief or lo-fi wireframe into a hi-fi design that developers can use to create the experiences in Webflow or Shopify.
- Brainstorm, ideate, and proactively drive projects from idea through to execution - not limited to your work streams
- Evolve & contribute to the brand and design systems by creating or briefing images, graphics, and icons
- Test, iterate, and evolve designs quickly based on patient feedback & their performance in market
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years in a similar role at an agency, studio, or startup
- Have excellent design fundamentals including typography, layout, illustration, and motion.
- Proficient in designing and executing various mediums and channels
- A strong portfolio showing a breadth of digital design and showing a proven track record for delivering high-impact creative
- You strive for excellence. A high standard for creative excellence and the ability to level up the craft within a team
- You are a doer. An autonomous self-starter who is comfortable with fast turnarounds and tight timelines
- High level of empathy and a broad range in tone of voice and the ability to make work that resonates with a variety of demographics in the healthcare space
- A proactive and collaborative approach; you love working with people and people love working with you across channels and departments
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Expertise with the usual digital design tools: Adobe, Figma.
- A genuine interest in design craft, techniques, trends, and the industry as a whole
Bonus:
- Experience with quantitative input to inform design
- Art direction & brand design experience
- Familiarity with Webflow
- Experience in the health and wellbeing space, with an ability to approach healthcare content with maturity, empathy, and understanding
- Experience at a high-growth startup
