A little bit about what we are looking for...
As a Senior Data Strategist, you will be an ambassador for our data planning and management, informing business decisions across PA Housing. You will work with a combination of data clients and colleagues from across the business to develop and deliver data activities centred on appropriate data capture, measurement, and optimisation across multiple on and offline channels. You will also lead on our work to develop the digital services offering to our residents, building on the solid foundations offered by the My PA app. You should be a self-starter, full of enthusiasm and highly collaborative. You'll be the 'glue' integrating with broader strategy to develop connected data-inspired services and digital activity. Collaboration is key to this role - you'll be working closely with various teams to define our data and strategy moving forwards.
We are happy to offer hybrid working with this role; You will be required to be in the office for around 2/3 days per week with the rest being from home, however please bear in mind we may need you to be in the office more within your probation and training. It's important to us that you feel fully ready and confident in the role before working from home. Of course if you'd prefer to be in the office more, then that is completely fine with us too!
This role can be also based at our Case House office, in Walton-on-Thames.
Your responsibilities...
- Shaping and setting the technical and data strategy for the business
- Liaising with the technical teams comprising a mix of data analysts, engineers and IT professionals
- Owning the technical roadmap for the business and its relationship with market opportunity. Delivery of rapid pilots to test and validate ideas
- Delivering data strategies and ecosystems, and shaping the future of project delivery profession effective data management
- A relentless focus on data security and integrity. Ensure management and maintenance of GDPR compliance, including the management of all technology-related risks
- Ensure that disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and tested
- Building relationships with all key stakeholders and teams to promote, develop and manage data deliverables
- Data discovery projects to inform strategy and enhance service delivery
- Lead stakeholders by developing data strategies and roadmaps to propel activities forward across all channels (on and offline)
- Define frameworks to measure effectiveness, set KPIs, benchmarks, targets and forecast to support business cases
- Define and set-up data deliverables that meet organisational objectives
- Measure, evaluate and optimise activity using best practice testing methodologies where necessary
- Create and present strategies, plans and performance overviews to internal stakeholders
- Drive strategy across all channels and touch points moving from email, push and SMS channels to a connected communications plan encompassing digital media including social, mobile and website
- Be the 'trusted advisor’ on all things data and make it easy for key stakeholders to make business decisions
- Lead on relationship management with key data / digital service providers, leveraging these relationships to maximise outcomes for PA residents and ensuring delivery of value for money services

Our ideal candidate...
- A degree, masters, or PhD plus significant experience
- Strategic thinker with data-driven, analytical approach to decision making
- Organised, structured planner with high degree to operate autonomously. Can be relied upon to deliver. Trustworthy.
- Solution-oriented problem solver with ‘hands-on’ approach and bias to action
- Demonstrable experience leading data teams, from machine learning to dashboards, automation to data pipelines and engineering. A generalist, but with the ability to rapidly learn and grasp new technologies and concepts
- Commercially savvy with proven results. Must be able to build and leverage strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers to create long-term win-win partnerships/relationships
- Self-confident and highly articulate, capable of inspiring the business and other key stakeholders by personal example. Great communicator capable of engaging, leading, and educating others
- Intellectually curious, stay up to date on latest technology and best practice
- Emotionally intelligent with ability to quickly adapt and successfully liaise with stakeholders at all levels inside and outside of the business
