Job Summary:
- Clinical Technicians will provide on-site specimen collections by operating in compliance with company polices, as well as applicable Federal and State regulations
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provide on-site specimen collections
- Record patient information including insurance and address on laboratory request forms
- Process and properly package specimens for safe shipping
- Record and maintain accurate patient processing logs
- Submit regular reports and records as assigned
- Escalate compliance issues, missing results, client complainants to client relations specialist
- Review demographic information by verifying consistency between requisition forms and patient documents
- Update and correct any missing billing information
- Attendance of mandatory team meetings
- Regular communication with supervisor as required
Qualifications:
Education –
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Competencies/Skills –
- Customer service skills
- Basic Computer Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Experience –
- Previous customer service role
- Clinical laboratory or related science/ medical environment a plus
- Knowledge of medical laboratory terminology such as sample collection, shipping,
processing, and reporting processes preferred
Certifications/Licenses –
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Assistant, or similar certification, preferred
Mental/Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/ or fingers. Must have the
ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required
to complete the essential functions of the position. Must have the ability to lift and maneuver weight
objects up to 25 lbs. Learning, thinking, concentration, and the ability to work under pressure,
particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and able to work as a
member of a team to ensure excellent customer service. Must have the ability to interact effectively
with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee
relations’ situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments
when necessary. Must be proactive in finding solutions. Working location could be office, clinical, or
remote.
