What you'll be doing:
The youth development nutritionist will be responsible, in collaboration with Chartwells, for supporting the education of students, coaches and teacher-coaches in relation to all aspects of nutrition pertaining to the sporting and academic demands on students. This will also include service provision to teams and individuals and will require close collaboration with the in-house chefs. More specifically, the youth development nutritionist will be innovative and forward thinking in optimising the learning and development of all stakeholders to inform decision making and positive behaviours around nutrition across the Millfield School community.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver creative educational approaches that enhance the nutrition support to a range of stakeholders across the school community.
Explore, implement and evidence behaviour change techniques around nutrition for sport and academic achievement, based on sound scientific principles.
Create and maintain case studies that evidence the benefits of the nutrition programme and resources within the school programme.
Use food and nutritional strategies as a tool to enhance student development across the school community in collaboration with the central nutrition team at Chartwells.
Build connections with students and coaches to support the multi-disciplinary nature of nutrition development across multiple sports programmes within the school.
Support identified sport students with more bespoke nutritional guidance based upon the demands of their Millfield experience – academic, co-curricular, pastoral, sport.
Work with marketing and Chartwells to design and create new and relevant resources that promote the school nutrition offer, that may be shared across other Chartwells sites.
Support other Chartwells sites with Nutritional initiatives. To be agreed between Millfield and Chartwells on a case-by-case basis.
Create training opportunities and materials for all sport coaches that educate them on relevant topics, including the importance of adequate fueling and decision making around food.
Contributing to and facilitate communication of relevant news and developments internally and externally, through the school’s media department and within the broader Millfield community.
Engage actively in continuous personal development and the development of the Millfield Institute of Sport and Wellbeing.

Who you are:
The Youth Development Nutritionist will have:
A Nutrition Degree .
Min 2 years experience within the discipline of nutrition and sports nutrition.
Applied experience in nutrition education and behaviour change around nutrition for youth athletes.
An understanding and passion for youth, sport and talent development.
Knowledge of teaching and learning practices to optimise individual and group development
As understanding of integrating successful education initiatives and programmes into a school environment.
Excellent communication skills in a variety of environments and media.
Well-developed administrative and organisational skills.
