We make use of the deep heritage of Deloitte and the amazing Intellectual Property (IP) within the firm to challenge the old and influence what is yet to happen. We design technology assets (ranging from tools and accelerators to fully fledged commercial software) that solve our clients' most complex challenges in a swift and radical way through the agility of a start-up, within the ecosystem of a $35bn global business.

You’re comfortable acting as an ‘Internal Consultant’, can take an in-depth look at others’ work and feed back valuable insight on shortcomings or suggested improvements. This is where your knowledge can be applied and seen as a high-value asset to the team.

You’re passionate about Continuous Improvement. Most solutions, once delivered, can still be improved upon, often with the benefit of hindsight. This is where you can leverage Subject Matter Expertise and influence.

You don’t easily settle for Second Best, always pushing for the ‘right’ solution. Where compromises are needed you consider options, present your case as needed, and only agree when the proposed way forward is acceptable. This helps establish credibility from peers & colleagues.

To be successful you will need thorough experience with most of:

• AWS (ideally also Azure)
• Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines (ideally also Jenkins)
• Terraform Infrastructure as Code (ideally also ARM & Bicep)
• Azure DevOps Code Repository management (ideally also GitHub)
• Security tooling (SAST/DAST/Build pipeline integration)
• AWS Lambda (ideally also Azure Functions)
• Architectural solution design
• ‘Secure by Design’ systems
• Agile working practices (Backlog/Refinement/Prioritisation/Retro)

To help you get there it would be good to have all, or some of:

• Serverless application stacks
• Atlassian’s Jira/Confluence
• Scripting & automation skills (Shell/Python/JavaScript)
• Container-based development
• AWS and/or Azure certification to Architect level
• Understanding of DevSecOps working practices
• Understanding of the full SDLC

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm. The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process.
