DevOps Engineer
£60,000 - £65,000 per annum + benefits
Remote working (occasional office visits) - Reading, Berkshire
DevOps Engineer required by a rapidly growing SaaS technology company based in Berkshire that is offering remote working. The organisation is currently going through a technology enabled transformation therefore is growing their software engineering team with an additional DevOps Engineer required to join the existing team.
The DevOps Engineer will be working within an agile software development team and will be the pivotal link between developers, testers, and external support providers. You will be working on greenfield DevOps projects helping the business with the implementation of hosting solutions for their software product portfolio. You will be working in a team that is responsible for their CI/CD pipelines and implementation of hosting solutions for their software products which are built in-house. The successful DevOps Engineer will have 2+ years' experience working with AWS cloud technologies in a software development team and have experience in the following areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing, and maintaining the CI/CD pipelines for deployment and hosting. Git and GitHub experience of creating workflows/actions is desirable.
- Maintaining and developing AWS infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Managing IAM permissions
- Automating a variety of tests to ensure services are working effectively.
- Creating scalable solutions for services using AWS cloud technologies.
- Working with the software development teams to deliver new features, maintenance of existing features as well as R&D
- Setting up new microservices, utilizing ECS, RDS, MongoDB, S3, AmazonMQ, SNS, API gateway, Event Bridge and Lambda
- Contributing and participating in high level design discussions, design reviews and code reviews
- Documentation of DevOps solutions and becoming the SME across the DevOps platform
Skills Required:
- 2+ years' experience working in a DevOps capacity.
- AWS cloud experience. AWS ECS, Fargate or similar. Experience building not just managing.
- CI/CD - Git and GitHub actions is highly desirable.
- Docker and repository managing experience.
- Terraform with AWS provider.
- 3-tier infrastructure experience including the network
- Experience with the SDLC. PHP or JavaScript exposure would be desirable but not essential.
- Experience working in highly agile environments.
