Description for the Principal DevOps Engineer role:- A rapidly growing early stage company have an opening for a Principal DevOps Engineer. This career opportunity will give you the chance to work in a leading edge AI, Machine learning based software company, mentoring junior Devops Engineers and guiding the direction DevOps takes working closely closely with the CTO. You will be responsible for the improvement, maintenance and quality of infrastructure and development pipelines and contribute significantly in the transition towards increasingly microservice based architecture.
The successful candidate can choose either hybrid or remote ways of working
Required Skills and Experience for the Principal DevOps Engineer:
- AWS services (EC2, Elasticache, RDS, CodePipeline etc).
- Programming and/or scripting knowledge to confidently create and manage 'infrastructure as code'.
- CI/CD, agile
- Excellent understanding of common *nix command line functionality.
- Git and GitHub
Preferred Skills and Experience for the Principal DevOps Engineer:
- Any Team leading/mentoring experience
- Strong experience as a developer (e.g. Java, C#, C++)
- Agile
- knowledge of software security and common exploit methodologies.
- RESTful web services
- Experience with infrastructure as code tool chains (e.g. CDK, Terraform, Chef, Docker)
Salary for the Principal DevOps Engineer will be between £75,000 and £100,000 and good company benefits.
