To further our expansion, we are now recruiting for a new DevOps Platform Engineer to align to our direct-to-consumer development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping deliver continuous improvement for our award winning client facing applications.
Responsibilities:
- Agile methodologies and a passion for continuous improvement and building a high-performance engineering team
- To guide and mentor the team to design and deliver high quality products
- Consider architectural and non-functional requirements and work with the team to deliver
- Contribute to the design, management & maintenance of our AWS hosted infrastructure covering our dev, UAT and production environments.
- Hands on with the ability to have direct impact on the future of our products and platforms
- You will be working closely with other engineers across development, architecture and devOps
- Provide a resilient, scalable and secure platform.
- Problem management and root cause analysis.
What we’re looking for from you:
- Experience delivering & maintaining an application stack on AWS
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux server configuration and management
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, AWS codepipelines) – build, test, and deploy in an automated pipeline or workflow
- Experience with CDK / Typescript
- Experience with AWS Lambda and API Gateway
- Knowledge of scripting languages – Bash, Groovy, PowerShell
- Knowledge of with containers creation and management
- Knowledge of source control, i.e. Bitbucket, GitHub
- Experience with micro services architecture
- Database experience with MongoDB, MySQL
- Comfortable in an Agile product engineering environment
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Very motivated with high levels of drive and enthusiasm
- E-commerce and/or financial services experience beneficial
Desirable skills and experience you can also bring:
- Containerisation (Docker and AWS ECS or similar)
- Linux and Windows, with emphasis on scripting and automation.
- Automation tools, focusing on deployments through CodeBuild and CodePipeline.
- AWS-based capacity and performance logging and monitoring solutions.
- Experience in architecting and building solutions to support highly available and scalable web sites, mobile apps and public APIs.
