We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer in our Technology, Digital, Data & Delivery (TD3) group.
This is a full- time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU/South Mimms, Hertfordshire/or Remote Working*.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.
The salary for this role is from £37,435 to £40,964. A Digital Allowance of up to £10,000 per annum may be available for exceptional candidates based on our assessment of your skills and experience.
- Remote working is also available for this role, with occasional travel to our London or South Mimms Office. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment. Salary arrangements depend on home location with London-based employees receiving London salary rate of £41,185 - £46,870.

The Technology & Service Operations function is responsible for managing the existing IT infrastructure including database and other technology platforms including both software and hardware infrastructure, leading the maintenance of applications directly and through management of outsourced service delivery providers, including the Agency IT and helpdesk and for the development and QA of and transition to new software and hardware infrastructure.
What’s the role?
This is an important role in the Agency as part of our drive to become more self-sufficient in the development and delivery of new digital products enabling us to meet our corporate ambitions and objectives.
You will represent and champion a DevOps culture in the organisation and will serve cross-functional product teams and lead the design and development of modern DevOps CI/CD (Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment) pipelines covering build, test and deploy phases.
You will also manage collaboration tools and implement advanced monitoring solutions across multiple technologies to enable the Agency to continue the build out of their modern DevOps Solution.
You will have the chance to contribute to design and discovery workshops to ensure that the Agency is maximising opportunities to implement DevOps practices.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be an experienced DevOps Engineer who is confident in creating CI/CD pipelines using different technology stacks and best practices for auto provisioning, security, and vulnerability testing, automating build and deploy on Azure using AKS, Docker and monitoring.
You will have a track record of taking a hands-on role with engineering delivery and of working with your peers to improve our tools, technologies, guidance and standards.
You will have experience of evaluating and establishing requirements for the implementation of changes by setting policy and standards and be experienced in establishing and promoting good engineering principles.
You may not have experience of every one o the tools and applications, platforms and languages that we use, but what we are really looking for is somebody with a passion to learn and develop a broad range of DevOps skills that can help us and the Agency deliver its ambitious programme of change.
