Introductory Development Officer
Permanent – 37 hours per week.
(Grade 2: £20,632 – £25,741)
This is an opportunity for enthusiastic individuals who can demonstrate an aptitude for planning to join our busy planning teams as a Development Officer (Introductory).
The primary function will be assessing planning applications and investigating planning enforcement cases but there will also be an opportunity to gain experience in other teams within the planning service. The successful candidate should enjoy working in a high performing and busy planning team and be willing to learn “on the job”. A positive outlook, a desire to meet tight deadlines and excellent customer service skills are essential.
The successful applicants will carry their own caseload using the skills learnt on live, increasingly higher-profile cases. Mentoring and support will be provided. Knowledge of the planning process/planning enforcement process is desirable.
The posts are 37 hours a week and a degree of flexibility might be able to be offered in respect of the work base depending on the successful candidate’s circumstances.
