Job Description
JOB TITLE: Development Manager
LOCATION: Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: travel required across sites
About this opportunity:
We’re supporting the Group’s Strategy of ‘helping Britain recover’ through the provisions of quality homes.
Citra Living is an exciting, new standalone company, with a new brand, as part of Lloyds Banking Group, which will focus solely on the private rental market. The move builds on the Group’s existing support for the housing market as one of the biggest mortgage lenders to first-time buyers, home movers and private landlords. Since 2018, Lloyds Banking Group has provided almost £40bn of mortgages in the UK, and helped one in four first time buyers to get onto the housing ladder.
The intention is to work with leading house builders, and other participants, through strategic partnerships to identify sites and support the building of additional housing, with Citra Living buying the rental element of these new developments. The properties then being let to customers. As well as ensuring continued support for the house building sector this will also help to address the continued increase in demand for rental properties at the same time. The properties, which will be incremental stock to the UK, will provide modern, good quality homes to meet the demands of a growing rental market, and they will be within easy reach of local transport, amenities and leisure facilities
Within our newly created team, we’re looking for a Development Manager to work alongside and report into the Development Director where you’ll be responsible for the successful delivery of new privately rented homes for Citra Living. You’ll have the best
interests of our customers at heart in ensuring that homes and places are built to the highest standards and maintained to the required quality and standards, whilst monitoring costs.

  • General responsibilities; drive the use of Modern Methods of Construction and innovation to deliver the Future Homes Standards, develop Citra’s Minimum Viable Product, including house types, specification and Employers Requirements, assist with incorporation of new/changing Government Policy, Health & Safety Building Regulations etc and ensure that project costs are rigorously managed and expenditure is always recorded.
  • Transaction Stage; supporting the site feasibility analysis of potential new projects, collaborating with internal Citra stakeholders, lead on technical due diligence processes, manage and monitor the performance of external Health & Safety experts and ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables.
  • Development Stage; general responsibility for project stage delivery, serve as the link between members of the Commercial and Operations team, report into the Development Director in regard to program updates, provide financial updates and all matters of Health and Safety, ESG and key deliverable and in general be responsible for on-going project performance.
  • Operational Phase; maintain responsibility for development related issues during the defect liability period, working with the Operations Team, third parties and the Customers as necessary, liaise with the Operations Team on the reporting, rectifying and monitoring of defects and agreeing proactive measures to ensure defects are rectified within our service level
