Job description

Kids Kitchen Development Coordinator

We create fun, healthy, food activities with parents and under fives. Through this we aim to tackle social isolation of parents with young children, childhood obesity, and the environmental and financial impact of food systems.

Started in 2011 by two parents wanting to cook healthy food with their own young kids, we are now a network of locally-focused hubs, supporting each other with the same mission in what suits each area, and providing the resources and support for new hubs too.

Role Overview

We are a non-profit social enterprise and long term, aim for a mix of income - 50% grants, and 50% self generated. Our current priority is growing our self-generated income.

We are a team of part-time employees and freelancers, working flexibly and remotely, the majority of whom are, or have experience being the primary carer of a child.

Our hubs are the places where people, families, experience what we do, how we do it and are inspired to do it themselves.

This role is part of this core team - maintaining the infrastructure and support systems that enables our hubs and projects to continue - and grow.

The core team is made up of three roles, effectively a three-way jobshare running the organisation: this role is the one that gets the money in and supports everyone else in the part they play to get the money in too. The role works alongside a training and team coordinator, and a central coordinator.

It is an opportunity for you to use your strong communication skills to bring both fun to families and a lasting change to our food system!

The Development Coordinator:

  • Grows new income streams to achieve impact and sustainability, building relationships towards this
  • Identifies and applies for potential grants that fit with Kids Kitchen’s values and goals
  • Hears what the team and wider Kids Kitchen Collective is experiencing and analyses the impact that we are having, and can have in the future
  • Shares the work that we do and the impact we have in places that raise our profile
