Our client has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and outgoing Development Chef to support their growing catering business within contract catering.
Based within the shires from York to Yorkshire, you will have the know how for mobilising new sites to the business.
Your main duties will include but not limited to:
- Upskilling existing sites to support continuous improvement of the group food service landscape
- Innovate new ways of working in line with brand concepts
- Work closely with the Directors and keep up to date with trends in food delivery
- Create template food standards that are interchangeable with brand concepts
- Be the ambassador for food in sales presentations
The ideal candidate must have strong experience with staff relations, ensuring unit staff are adequately trained and have the resources to enable them to prepare quality food.
You will also possess the skills to:
- Identify training needs for unit staff and to draw up and deliver appropriate training interventions to meet those needs
- To ensure that appropriate instructions and procedures are implemented and monitored, to ensure that the kitchen, dining room and service areas are clean, tidy and attractive at all times
- To demonstrate financial awareness of all costs incurred within units and to develop business plans with potential improvements.
- To ensure, through appropriate coaching, that Unit Managers are familiar with and comply with contractual requirements, including such issues as portion control, choice selection and quality
- To ensure that all health , safety and hygiene requirements are met within each unit
- To ensure that all unit staff are appropriately dressed in a clean uniform and that they are polite and friendly at all times.
- To respond promptly to customer and client feedback ensuring that any follow up action is taken
- To work with Nutrition & Food Development to develop new recipes, ensure ingredients, recipes and menus are in line with School Food Standards and support the implementation in units..
- To work with Nutrition & Food Development and suppliers to identify new ingredients and products and ensure quality of existing products is in line with company standards
- Deliver added value sessions, such as tastings, cooking demonstrations or classes with pupils
- Demonstrate the Company’s commitment to our schools/businesses by recognising and responding to their own unique culture and special requests
- To identify ways to improve work activities, exploit new business opportunity and reduce costs

Package DescriptionOur client offers a brand new idyllic benefits package, which includes a competitive salary between £40,000 - £45,000 Per Annum as well as shorter working hours between Monday to Friday, 38 Hours Per Week.
