Job Introduction

Developing Creatives will have the potential to think conceptually and are responsible for producing trails, campaigns and digital content reversions, to support the BBC Studios suite of Branded Services, in EMEA.

They will be supported at all levels but have a good instinctive sense of how ideas work across platforms with an enthusiasm for the broadcast, social and digital environment.

Where required the Developing Creative will support the Creative team to produce materials leading up to priority campaigns and therefore some experience of using Premiere or a similar editing tool will be highly advantageous.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work closely with a team of Production Co-Ordinator’s and Production Management Assistants to retain high creative and production standards in all campaigns while respecting brand values and delivering on time & on budget.
  • Learn to adapt previously produced assets for specific territory audiences, making sure that output is highly targeted and respects brand values.
  • Ensure all spots are editorially accurate and in accordance with brand guidelines, as well as technically compliant for play out.
  • Develop strong copywriting skills and excellent editing and design skills with a view to originating promotional material with excellent copy, ideas and concepts.
  • Proactively support the Creative and Production teams to develop and maximise creative, devising creative solutions for key promotions, campaigns, digital, social and off air materials.
  • Take part in ideation sessions, whilst always looking for innovative and targeted ways to communicate key messages, according to the regional audience.
  • Learn to confidently pitch ideas using scripts, treatments, storyboards and other related material.
  • Learn to generate multiplatform digital and social ideas to support our broadcast and programme brands.
  • Learn to direct edits, VO and audio sessions when appropriate.
  • Develop and share a thorough knowledge of our distinctly different international audiences.
  • Be aware of and work within the parameters of the budget and timeline, working closely with the Production Co-ordinators.
Are you the right candidate?

The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker with a passion and track record for content, art and media.

They must have a strong eye for detail and ability to demonstrate sound judgement.

They should have the ability to demonstrate initiative and work flexibly and independently.

They will plug into and be supported by, a network of creatives and production, specifically the Production Co-Ordinator’s, Creative’s and Lead Creatives.

  • Highly organised and resilient to be able to sustain performance under pressure from a high volume of work and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with contributors with tact and sensitivity.
  • Ability to understand, and work towards, budgets and timelines.
  • Basic knowledge of the appropriate production processes, relevant tools and techniques highly advantageous.
  • Some knowledge of localised sensibilities within EMEA advantageous.
  • Audience focused with an awareness of the latest broadcast, digital and social trends and landscape.
  • Ability to self-operate at offline level advantageous (Premiere & Photoshop preferred).
  • Resilience and stamina to sustain performance when under pressure from a high volume of work and conflicting priorities.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and work flexibly and independently.

Professional Experience

Experience of working within a broadcast or agency environment is highly advantageous.

Strong creative skills and judgement with a keen interest in art & media.
